I wonder how much the discounts are right now. I've heard desperate home sellers have been giving cars with their house. I wonder what kind of desperate things the automakers are doing.

If you want to buy a truck it is a great time....you can damn near set your price...but if you want a fuel sipper forget it.

If you want to buy a truck it is a great time....you can damn near set your price...but if you want a fuel sipper forget it.

That's what I've heard. I've heard Ford, GM and others are taking $6-8k off the price of a new truck. That's unheard of.

That's what I've heard. I've heard Ford, GM and others are taking $6-8k off the price of a new truck. That's unheard of.

Alaska is the land of giants man.....huge number of truck drivers...but the lots are full to overflowing with new trucks and the dealers are offering massive discounts. But trucks are expensive and people are spooked about the economy so sales are almost non existent.

Saw some place in AZ was taking 14K off of 32K Dodge Rams recently. CA dealer was dropping 16K. Half off a new truck ain't half bad.

That's probably really close to cost so that is a hell of a discount.
