Come on people, no need to boo Rodgers. Totally classless.

Pathetic. No matter what happens this year, Rodgers is likely the future at QB of this franchise. I sure hope all of this doesn't mean we lose him after next year.

Bad decision? I'd say the same thing here if Brett was QB'ing, but it was a two minute drill. Coston got a holding that put them back to the 20 with 8 seconds left on the "clock"--with the Packers offense needing a TD. He had to make a throw. A throw away doesn't do any good there. Of course, Favre's never thrown an interception in that situation.

I defended Brett against people like you who say he sucked... cuz he didnt.. he played average and the game shoulda been over long before that INT... we sucked as a team and we lost as a team... Some people are really giddy, but I just have a bad feeling that this won't end good. In a" Favre wins the starting job, doesn't play like an MVP, maybe throws an interception in a Wild Card game or something, ARod goes elsewhere after next year, and turns into a good QB in the NFL" kind of way. That's just the way sports works. It never turns out how you think it will. Of course, maybe since I'm expecting that, things will turn out differently.

My guess is he's going to shut up all those people who were handing him the "biggest reach in the draft" honors.

maybe TT just needs to "reach" on all his picks, cuz those seem to be the ones that pan out the best

harvey has a case of the crabby pants lately.

I thought Favre went out with style last year.

I totally hear what you're saying, Harv. It's going to go on like this all season.

Whenever I see Taj Smith now I think of the first training camp practice this past Monday morning. After practice they players ride the kids bikes and often sign autographs. It's also important to note that they weren't wearing their jerseys, so it was hard to identify some of them.

Well, Taj was getting ready to ride away on some kids bike and this other kid, couldn't have been more than 6 years old, comes running up to him and says "Al, you are my favorite player, can I get your autograph?" It was so innocent on the kids' part that because he saw a black guy with dreads, he called him Al. Taj was pretty cool about it, just said "I'm not the Al you're looking for."

At one point, Rodgers threw nine straight incompletions. He completed just seven of 20 passes for 84 yards and one interception.

Brohm was 6-of-15 for 61 yards.

Third-stringer Matt Flynn was 6-of-11 for 49 yards, making the quarterbacks a combined 19-of-46 for 194 yards.

Flynn didn’t get a chance to run the two-minute drill.

Brohm and Flynn were each sacked once.

not a very good night for the QB's in general.. I hope this is not what we are headed towards if Favre doesn't play this season

Come on people, no need to boo Rodgers. Totally classless.

Pathetic. No matter what happens this year, Rodgers is likely the future at QB of this franchise. I sure hope all of this doesn't mean we lose him after next year.

Not sure. He'll get his shot but to say he'll get more than a year for sure is probably not a true statement. Brohm looks like he has some moxy to him. I like how he played tonight. Rodgers seemed to dump it off an awful lot. I wasn't impressed. But, it is early and typically the defense is ahead of the offense by a mile at this point. Then again, it was the second string with the 3rd string DBs in.

Brohm had his moments, but I actually liked what I saw from Flynn. He looked good.

Rodgers wasn't getting a lot of time on a few plays, had no choice to dump it off. Then again, on other plays he had plenty of time.

To make any judgment on any QB from tonight is silly. The only thing I'm taking away from tonight is that our secondary looked good.

Thompson has a reaaaaallllll long frame... looks a little like jason taylor

Agreed. I thought the same. How tall is he?

says he's 6'4-270 on the roster on packers.com

looks taller than that though... long torso

Blackmon is exciting at punt returner.

Spectacular return. He is lightning fast and just as quick. It's rare that someone has that blend of speed, agility and balance. I hope he can get healthy. M3 has said he's the best athlete on the team evidently.

Taj was pretty cool about it, just said "I'm not the Al you're looking for."

again.. mixture of cheers and boooooz

Yeah, but it's going to be like that all season, whether it's Favre or Rodgers behind center.

Do you really believe that? I don't think you'll hear boos for Favre unless he struggles. If we're winning, all will be well. Even with A-Rod. I expect to win some with either and a lot with Favre, so I don't expect many boos.

Agreed I would have thought 6'6". He is very slender.

Boos probably were mostly from fans who did a little too much tailgating on a warm Sunday afternoon. Some fans also might not have liked being told to get on board or shut the hell up.

Just got back. It's hard to tell much when you're at the game. I can always get a lot better feel from watching on TV. I recorded it and will watch tomorrow.

Rodgers looked poor. Everyone said he was throwing high. Probably nerves. It's understandable, but not something that will be forgiven forever. Hopefully he can get that cleaned up by the preseason.

There was a guy behind me booing Rodgers. I told him to shut the hell up. Later in the night we had a shirt launched up to us. I caught it. The guy that I told to shut up was right behind me and he caught it at the same time. He pulled me back into the row behind me and we started duking it out for the T-shirt :). Really, this did happen. I drug him down a set of bleachers and my brother jumped in and ripped the shirt out of our hands. I went to sit down and the guys friend shoved me down a flight of bleachers. My brother shoved him down. I wasn't about to get arrested, but it was damn good T-shirt fight :). My adrenaline was really flowing. After that I had a hard time getting back into the game. I was too pumped up.

I would have kicked all your dumb asses for fighting over a T-shirt and blocking my view. :smack:

Yeah, I didn't really think about it. After I had the shirt and the guy pulled me down I just did what instinct directed me to do and I fought for the shirt. I've always had a hard time resisiting the fight part of fight or flight. I think the guy started it, but I could have been the bigger person and just let him have the shirt. Unfortunately I can't resist a good T-shirt brawl.

“They’re booing all of us, probably me mostly,” Rodgers said. “So, yeah, I take it personally. But it’s not the first time, and it probably won’t be the last time.”

“I think the organization has been put in a tough spot,” Rodgers said. “It’s a difficult situation when Brett decided to change his mind, but we’re going to welcome him back to the team. … I’ve got an opportunity. If I don’t win the competition, then I’ll support Brett, and we’ll move forward together.”

The source suggested that if the Packers plan to give Favre his starting job back, they might be able to placate Rodgers by offering him a contract extension. His current deal, the one he signed after the Packers made him a first-round draft pick in 2005, runs through the 2009 season.

However, Rodgers told the Press-Gazette that the Packers haven't approached him about a contract extension, and that he’s not interested in one at this time.

“Not until I play,” Rodgers said. “There’s no point in extending my contract until I play.”

Some observations.

Many substitutions. The only way you could say 1st, 2nd or third team was by the QB playing. Many played 1 and 2nd and many played 2nd and 3rd string.

One week of practice in pads.

Defenses always start off ahead of offenses.

Brohm and Flynn look far better as rookies than Rodgers and Ingle Martin looked as rookies.

The playing surface and the balls were wet.

Guys who looked better than expected (D)Thompson, Tramon Williams, Humphrey, Ruvell Martin, Sitton, Flynn, Morency.

Guys who did not have a good night, Jones, Bolston, Hunter.

I'm not on rodgers jock even a little bit, I have said many times BF is probably a better QB at this point, but his actions have been cancerous. Now go kick your dog because someone banged your wife and you ain't man enough to do anything about it.
