What good is this going to do, really? Just a waste of money, I mean it's not like this guy helped with damage control at the White House.

Brett Favre has been fighting this battle through the press, so it makes absolute sense to hire Ari to deal with that onslaught.

Who would be better than the guy that convinced the media the war in iraq was a good idea? So far, the Packers have failed to control the dialogue. This give them a better chance to form more coherent talking points and release them more strategically.

The problem is that Bus has been doing just that effectively for the last two months... so the Packers are going to struggle to regain ground.

It may be fun for you, but I am going crazy. I just want a resolution. Too bad I cant look into my crystal ball and see who's under center for green bay week one and who's on the bench.

WTF indeed. One-month consultancy is a lot better than staff, but damn, Fleischer had a gig set up to consult with multiple teams. I wish we weren't that fertile ground for him.

Brett wants to fight a dirty public relations war. Well, it's on. All is fair.

TT and murphy are ready to spin the shit out of everything that comes their way now with ari

it wouldn't surprise me if the "sources close to favre" was actually the green bay packers front office. everything that come from sources close to favre made him look like a dick. maybe this would be the lies that favre has said the team is spreading to the fans

this makes the team look much worse in my opinion. why hire a politician unless you are up to no good?

I think you hire Ari because Brett has made this an ugly public relations battle and they are not experienced in handling this.

"Sources close to Favre" could be:

Brett himself (folks do go unattributed for stories sometimes)
Deanna
Bus Cook
Bus Cook's staff
Breleigh
Brett's pilot
Brett's trainer
The high-schoolers
Anyone who has or ever had the last name "Favre"

Brett and his crew do their own work making him look like a dick when he looks like a dick. Reporters would not couch Packer statements as "sources close to Favre."

I don't know if this fact is significant in the Packers' decision to hire Ari Fleischer, but Ari's father, Max, was a famous cartoon producer during the War. Anyone who has watched Popeye cartoons from that era on TV will recognize the name.

Maybe TT is maximizing his run as a people person, master communicator, and true pulse of the fans into a shot at the Presidency this fall?
