McCarthy arrives at practice; Favre isn't there
2:30 p.m.

Coach Mike McCarthy appeared on the field at 2:29 p.m., nearly a half hour after practice began. It is presumed McCarthy was late because of issues related to Brett Favre.

Speaking of Favre, the chant from fans continued – a loud “We want Brett” could be clearly heard at 2:14 p.m. and again at 2:24 p.m. A less vocal chant started again at 2:28 p.m.

The Favre issue clearly has been a distraction in the early stages of today’s practice. No attendance figures have been released yet, but today’s crowd appears to be one of the largest, if not the largest of camp so far.

* Running back Ryan Grant took reps with the first team offense today. Grant is participating in his first practice since signing a new contract over the weekend.

:lol: this story gets more hilarious and ridiculous by the day. this is bigger than the Lindbergh baby. Bigger than Britney Spears. The Olympics will be overshadowed.
