Ah, but last week EaSports had a glich on their site in which Favre was in fact shown on the cover, in a bucs uni.

Curse applies. EA has taken care of this and set precedence. No player, no matter how iconic, no matter how retired or semi retired they are, NO player escapes the Madden curse. Unless you play middle linebacker and your name is Ray Lewis. Then you are exempt. Ray Lewis > Brett Favre, per EA Sports.
