I'm guessing they'll introduce the Defense to the crowd so the bottom feeders don't get to boo Rodgers before he's thrown a pass.

Five things to watch for Monday Night. In addition to what they mention in this article, I'll be very interested to see how Brandon Jackson looks.

Ruvell Martin will play well.

Aaron Rouse I hope plays well.

I'm rooting for Sitton to play well.

JAckson certainly looks more like an NFL back this year.

Crap!

I don't know if this is their standard Monday Night crew but Korn-hole-iser has a huge crush on Deanna Favre. He has not once on his radio show - at least that I have heard - suggested that Favre had even one iota of blame in this whole Favre/Packer fiasco. I want game analysis tonight -even as feeble as their attempts often are - not a recap of this whole affair starting from the Packers meltdown against the Giants until the present. :(

Hell, he spent literally the MAJORITY of last night's Monday night game arguing with Jaws about how Green Bay made the wrong choice.

Is he going to do it all over AGAIN when GB is actually playing this time?!?!

Just turn down the sound. Turn on Closed Captioning and only watch when it says "Jaws:".

And read the Packerrats Thread. What other breakdowns do you need?

In my opinion, while he seems like a nice guy, Tirico is the person who cannot get out of the way of anyone else on that broadcast. If it were Jaws and Tony and down and distance on the scroll, I'd be happy.

Yes, you want him in with the one's only (to protect him) and some of our one's need to leave early (Clifton, Tauscher, Driver) either due to age or injury potential.

Interesting thought. 4-5 series is pretty standard for the 1st teamers, but what is common for a new starter at QB? I've never paid attention. Never had to...

Foe the first preseason game, it's enough. They need to see what Brohm and Flynn can do more than they need to see what Arod can do.

1) How well does Abdul Hodge play? Between he and Bishop who gets time at outside linebacker. How does Tracey White play? White and Hodge are competing with Bishop for #5 and possibly a #6 spot.

2) Can Moll and Giacomini show enough to get more preseason time or are they in the death spiral of getting cut.

3) D-line Can Bolston be worthy? How bad is the deep depth like Muir.

4) Is Sitton really much better than the draft gurus said? Draft experts did not like him being selected so high. Has Ted found a gem?

5) Brohm has to show some improvement above normal for a rookie or there will be some nervousness.

MadtownPacker

OK ARod, let's see a nice selection of throws. Dont play it too safe and keep dumping it off. Make some plays and show us what you got.

WRs - Catch everything tonight, need to get the O off to a good start.

RBs - Just stay healthy Grant, I am concerned you aint ready. Let Jackson have the rock for a half see what he can do.

TE - Want to see Humphrey step up as the #2 cuz the rookie aint ready yet.

OL - Dont get Rodger killed tonight.

I have to believe MM has made a game plan - with little pressure on AR. I would expect a lot of run plays....a lot of short passes. I would think they would not have him do too much for the first game.

Why throw him into the fire in the first televised game.

I am going to watch the D - specifically, the d-secondary (2nd and 3rd strings) - I think we will need them this year - with both Woodson and Harris getting a little long in the tooth.

Lurker64
08-11-2008, 07:21 PM
That doesn't really held Francies's shot at making the team. Who are the frontrunners for the #6 WR? The top 5 will almost certainly be Driver, Jennings, Jones, Nelson, Martin in some order, so taking 6 certainly isn't a given. I've heard good things about Taj Smith, so #6 is probably between Smith and Francies?

Fosco33
08-11-2008, 07:26 PM
I agree that INT was not Arod's fault. Lots of INTs are the receiver's fault, too.

Part of Favre's INT issues were so many subpar receivers or 'just a guys', poor routes, drop/tip passes, etc.

But Arod didn't necessarily throw it to an open receiver, though... One guy drapped on Frances (PI) and one in the picture plus the guy who took the INT.

No, he was wide open and Rodgers should have nailed him. I've seen the vikings do the exact same thing the last two years. Actually, with the Vikings it's either over their head or they drop it. Of course Williamson is gone!
