Thursday night has North Carolina playing South Carolina on ESPN. The Oregon State Beavers will play Stanford at Palo Alto on ESPN2 at 6 p.m.(PST)
The Beavers will feature a pair of "Smurf" tailbacks in brothers James and true freshman Jaquizz Rodgers. They are both about 5'7", 180 lbs.
Last year for his Texas high school team, Jaquizz Rodgers rushed for 2,902 yards and scored 46 touchdowns--that is for one season! His total high school rushing yardage is 8,000 yards and 136 touchdowns! We shall see how well his running skills translate to the collegiate level. Beavers Coach Mike Riley is raving about him.
In any event, it will be a fun evening to launch the college football season.
