View Full Version : Ducks football players honor deceased teammate

During yesterday's Oregon Ducks football opener against Washington, the Ducks honored the memory of 19 year old teammate Todd Doxey, who drowned in Eugene's McKenzie River this summer.(An autopsy showed he had no alcohol or drugs in his system. Neither did he have a trauma to his head, etc.)

The sports department flew up the Doxey family from California and gave each of them a #29 Ducks jersey during pregame ceremonies at Autzen Stadium. Outstanding safety Patrick Chung wore Doxey's #29 during the game. For each of the remaining games, one of the Ducks' starters will wear #29.

In addition, each Ducks player wore a TD29 sticker on the back of his helmet.
