Have we just shut down AP or have they not been running much?

Guiness

TOUCHDOWNNNNN
OMG THAT BLOCK AT THE END, that guy got knocked the fuck out

I believe that was Jason Hunter administering the crushing blow.

Was that Hunter. It was better than just a good hard block - he ran with the guy, waited until he was in position so it wouldn't be a 'block in the back' got around the side of him, then leveled him.

That is good coaching.

You stand a better chance of getting two points by kicking two extra points than by going for two twice. It's just a terribly low percentage play, and Minnesota should be playing assuming that Green Bay can score again and that they need to score another TD to win.

Then that's two risky calls in a row including the going for it on 4th instead of taking the FG attempt. At least they got the TD, I guess. Would have had the 2 if TJ had any accuracy.

Badgerinmaine
09-08-2008, 08:36 PM
I think Minn. made the right call in going for two, but the thinking on going for one could be that if the Packers kick a FG, then you'd be down 20-13 and can tied the game without having to go for two (or play for the win) But like I said, they made the right call but just didn't execute.

Bad decision to go for two there. I don't care what the chart says.

why???

that is the textbook situation to go for 2. What does 1 give them at all?

You stand a better chance of getting two points by kicking two extra points than by going for two twice. It's just a terribly low percentage play, and Minnesota should be playing assuming that Green Bay can score again and that they need to score another TD to win.

Why? They gave up a big play but have played it pretty tough overall.....

But the thing is, that if they miss the 2-point conversion and they score another TD they have to go for the 2-point conversion again, otherwise Green Bay can win with a FG. You're gambling that you can convert on at least one of two 2-pt conversions and that you can keep Green Bay from scoring at least a field goal. You're better off just kicking the two extra points so a field goal only ties.

Last time I checked you can't hold a guys arm.

Given the quality of officiating (on both sides) in this game, are you at all surprised?

MadtownPacker
09-08-2008, 08:50 PM
You dont think the Pack should have alot more points in a game they have dominated???
Way to not panic Mad

This is BS. This game should be out of reach by now. If this happens to go bad the blame will fall directly on M3. This is the point where coaches earn their money the way I see it.

See, this is why you don't go for two earlier. Right now it's a 12 point lead. Minnesota would need two touchdowns. If they had kicked the extra point, it would be an 11 point lead and they would have the option of kicking a field goal in the red zone and getting the ball back and going for the TD and the late 2-point conversion to tie. Now that's no longer possible. If Green Bay can keep the Vikings from scoring two touchdowns, they win.

monster stop there.

they went 3 wide why????

Well the last time they ran on 3rd and 1 they got stuffed, and the last time they passed on 4th and 1 they scored a TD....
Maybe, but they've got probably the most dynamic rushers in the game. And a passer who I think has been more lucky than good tonight.

I've going with Peterson on 3 and 1 is all I'm saying.

You're still thinking too hard. You don't plan on another touchdown by your opponent. If they keep scoring, you never catch up and it doesn't matter. It was still the right call.
