According to FO's Doug Farrar, our very own AK74 put more pressure on the QB than anyone in 2007. (http://views.washingtonpost.com/theleague/smarterstats/2008/09/who-gets-to-the-quarterback-most.html)

He's the most respected leader on our team. Al Harris recently referred to Kampman as the current NFL player he respects most, saying “Aaron Kampman: Family, Faith, then football…that’s him, he’s a man.” (http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/2008/09/10-questions-with-al-harris-2/) He leads by example, never giving up on a play and being a universal class act on and off the field.

Also, Kampan was everywhere in last night's Vikings game. He never let up on T-Jack, he scored some major tackles against AP, and he simply owned the Vikings offense. He's consistently disruptive in every single game. It might be a little early to say this, but the guy deserves to be the defensive MVP.

Do you agree?

He's already a lock for the Packer Hall of Fame, yes.

I agree that it's a little early to say this. Maybe so, I just wanted to be a bit ahead of the curve on this one. There's not a Kampman fan thread, despite the fact that the guy is universally considered the most valuable man on our team.

He was awesome last night, and odds are good he will remain so for the rest of the season. So, I certainly see a good possibility that he'll get recognized at the end of the year.

He's every bit as good as Jared Allen, and last night he was quite a bit better.

Hopefully Allen is no longer going to be handed the best DE in football title by default.

Here's a quote from Brandt over at NFP:
The other Aaron, Kampman, may still be the most underrated player in the league. He has received some notoriety over the past couple years with his top-of-the-NFL sack totals, but one rarely hears his name in the same breath as players like Shawne Merriman, Jason Taylor, Osi Umenyiora, and, of course, Jared Allen. Allen made 31M in guaranteed money this offseason and was featured in Sports Illustrated, Sporting News, ESPN Magazine, and other national publications. He was an admitted character risk. Kampman, who is making 21M on his four-year deal — an amount we at the Packers were criticized for overpaying him — volunteered for weeks in relief of tornado-ravaged Iowa and barely had an article written about him. I’ll take Kampman over any defensive end in the league (and so would many front office people). http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/2008/09/packers-vikings-thoughts-from-an-insider/

Chad Clifton could tell you who the better pass rusher is, and Allen wouldn't win that comparison.

I love having the guy who got paid and still kept getting better...

Rare isn't it?

Hopefully we see the same with Grant ...
