View Full Version : What should the Packers do?

With A-Rod hurt and obviously injury prone and with 2 rookie QB's backing him up, part of me wants them to sign a veteran backup and part of me wants to keep both rookies. Flynn and Brohm both look like they may have bright NFL futures and signing a vet would mean we'd lose one, but it sucks seeing Flynn struggle behind Rodgers.

I vote we go with Tex. He indicated Flynn is better than anybody available.

if we traded for a vet like Bulger, it would be absolutely hilarious... trading Favre and then trading for Bulger all in one season... it has my laughing already

I may be the only one....but DAMN I wanna see Brohm play. I think he's a hell of a lot better QB than Flynn...despite what we saw in the preseason.

Put Brohm on the Practice squad and sign a veteran backup.

Brohm gets swept up immediately by another team.

What free agents are out there? :?:

I'd keep both Flynn and Brohm and add a vet QB. I'd cut the long snapper and have Wells do it. I just don't understand why teams 'waste' a roster spot there.

Interesting. I like it.

TT knew the risk he was taking going into the season and he stands behind his rookie QB's. I certainly didn't agree with this, but I really don't see TT making any moves. Unless Aaron is out long term.

Maybe because they can't do it.

It's not an appealing option either, but there's nothing stopping them from carrying four QB's, at least for the time being.

It's really a question of just how good they think these rookies are going to be. Do they really have starting potential? You'd like to think Brohm does, given his draft position, so what about Flynn?

If Rodgers is out more than one or two games, then it's silly to risk the season to protect these guys if they're nothing more than the next Ty Detmer.

If they think Flynn is a potential starter down the road then they need to carry four QB's, because these guys aren't ready right now.

Honestly, not a bad idea at this point.

You prepare for this moment in the preseason

You don't go sign somebody now

TT and/or MM decided to roll with what they have and now they should live with it

i dont post much but i must have missed something. What is our record, from reading this forum today i would have thought we were 0-4 Lots of doom and gloom around.
Considering how bad the offense was, we did have a lead mid way through the 4th. Its not time to jump off ship just yet.
Its a long season and we still will pry be in the lead of the NFCN after today.

is Alex Smith healthy?

No.

But that seems to be the least of his problems.

I vote we change systems to power football...

Of course, HOF QB's grow on trees, and finesse football w/o a good QB has always won a lot of championships.

I was just wondering if Martin and JJ were injured today, i dont think ive saw them on the field today. What happened to the 5 WR sets?

TT clearly miscalculated by not signing a veteran backup.

Agree with signing Culpepper ASAP should AR miss playing time.

four games into the season and i think the Pack are showing what they are...average. pretty darn good on d (when not over taxed), less than average on o. i think we overachieved last year with brett being the difference maker. i voted to keep the three we have so they (arod) can get experience and grow. we're far from a superbowl team so getting an experienced back-up would just set things back in the long run.
