My PS3 died today. I guess installing Wipeout HD was just to much to ask of the old bitch. 20 months. That's what 600 bucks gets you these days. Now I get to pay another 150 bucks for a refurb.

The 360 is still whirring away like a busted ass helicopter in need of an oil change. It's only a few months in, but it's only got to beat 20 to win. I think it just might do it.

Anyone want to lay down bets?

Only if you bought it before a certain time. I'm not sure Skin would qualify for a free fix.

Actually I'm fairly certain the 3 year warranty is global and covers all systems.

I've had a ton of buddies have problems with their Xbox 360 but I haven't heard much complaining about the PS3's

I got my xbox in 2006, it got the red rings last year around this time, sent it in and within a week i got a brand new one back with a 1 month xbox live card....

The "coffin" as the kids seem to be calling it is in the mail. I wish I had been a believer in backing up data before this happened. I'm kind of hoping that my refurb has toothmarks and shit in it. Mine looks like it just came out the box and I'm starting to think it's easy go lucky life of clean vents and plenty of open space to dissipate heat had something to do with it's early demise.
