That isn't why he got elected...he got elected cuz the GOP was derelict in duty. When are republicans going to realize that running AGAINST someone isn't going to work. Get back to small gov't principals and you will recapture the whitehouse and congress within 4 years.

I would gather that you could grab a handful of random republican voters and very few of them would know who frank, reid and pelosi are either....people are idiots, what do you want.

I think it's both and then some. I agree that this country does not pay enough attention to the political process. What's scary here is all you need is an american idol type campaign and you're in.

You certainly have a point: Repubs alienated a significant part of their traditional base by straying from fiscal conservatism. But that's nothing new: when has a Republican President ever lived and died by the principles of fiscal conservatism? I defy you to find one post-WWII example. On the other hand, you can also see--can't you?--that the hardline fiscal conservative mantra of eliminating government regulation and lowering taxes just isn't adequate for dealing with the problems of economic crisis in the time of global capitalism? The Dems don't have the answer either, mind you, and they too are struggling to break out of traditional ways of thinking, but they are lot closer to doing so than the Repubican party, which by all appearances has yet to enter the 21st century. They're still fighting the cultural wars of the 1980s and 90s and reliving the legacy of Ronald Reagan.

I think the interviewer should work on his pronoun usage.

I don't think we'll see "small government" ever again in this country... the demographics have tilted to "minorities" and other groups with their hand out, i.e. retiring baby boomers, medicare, social security, et al...

Too many people with their hand out... and you can be rest assured they'll vote themselves a pay check.

Of course socialist left wing government is unsustainable, and the whole thing will eventually implode, but since the people doing the voting are either completely ignorant, completely dumb, or simply don't give a damn about future generations, the simple fact is that there are plenty enough of them to keep government growing at an alarming rate.

Yep. I wish there could be criteria on who is worthy of a vote.

That's been tried in this country already. Perhaps you should invent a time travel machine and send yourself back to pre-1960s Mississippi. You'll feel right at home.

I thought those were race...or gender issues (too)? The obvious point of the above posters is criteria concerning those looking for a hand out and bankrupting our country.

What are you trying to say? Do you think only black people are looking for a hand out? Sure sounds like it. Your slip is starting to show Hoosier.

More blatant race baiting by a left wing poster. If it wasn't obvious that the point of this thread is that people are too stupid to vote....well, you gotta wonder if your in this category!!

After a dry spell of a couple of days, we have yet another interesting thread springing up.

I'd say the article and the little poll in it corroborate what I've been saying all along: the chief culprit is the media--the leftist saturated mainstream media, however, Fox is not totally blameless either, as they were so zealous to exhibit fairness and balance that they failed to provide any effective counter to the blatantly leftist crap promoted by the rest of the media. The poll showed exactly how gullible and stupid so many of the new voters who helped Obama so much were/are.

I would like to think a major reason for hope for the side of good in this country is that these dumbasses who pulled Obama through will develop buyer's remorse as they realize Obama ain't gonna cut taxes and ain't gonna be all bi-partisan and new politics. The fallacy in that logic, though, is that as easy as it was for the leftist media to con these fools before, it will probably be just as easy to convince them that Obama's sick agenda of CHANGE is working to their benefit--no matter what the truth is to the contrary.

The other aspect of this election result is the racism. Obama won the election by a margin of 7 or 8 million out of over 150 million total votes. Approximately 12% of that 150 million was black voters--in the neighborhood of 18 million. If 95% of blacks voted for Obama, that's about 17 million votes. Thus, it is no exaggeration at all to say that black racism determined the outcome of the election.

I've read there has been a spike in hate crimes against blacks since the election. Go figure that.

Barry would do a great thing if he announced today that he will keep the Bush tax cuts in effect for at least 2 years.

also:

I spoke to a life long dem yesterday and she said she and her friends are angry and questioning their vote as they see all the Clinton slimeballs taking cabinet positions.

Yeah, as if "those looking for a handout" weren't Repub code for "blacks and other lazy minorities." Wist actually comes right out and says it; he doesn't do code.

Sorry.

Your code.

Don't see it with Wist.

I think this is about the 8th time you have been caught being a racist.
