This is MM's answer to the following question posed by Bedard of Journal Sentinel:

(Where is your faith in Bob?)

Well, I work with Bob everyday. From a personal side of it, he's a tremendous human being, it's very important to him. And professionally, he has a system, a scheme and he's doing the best job he can to put players in a position to be successful. I hate to be redundant here. It all fits together. I have confidence in Bob and we'll continue as we move forward.

This "vote of confidence sounds like the kiss of death.

Translation:

"I like Bob Sanders a lot. I know he works hard but he cannot get it done. I don't want to lie to you all, so I punted when asked the question. In reality, I am really disappointed in Bob and have decided to replace him. I can't really say so publicly because the season has 3 more games to go. You really put me in an uncomfortable spot with this question, but Bob is gone on Monday December 29."

Yup, MM has begun disassociating himself from Sanders and the defense.
Called him a tremendous human being, said nothing about him as a coach.
Its Sanders, system, Sanders' scheme.
Sanders is doing the best he can.

Sanders is history.
