It's my birthday today and I want a Packers victory. I'd hope that playing a Jacksonville team that has given up on its season, this shouldn't be hard, but I've learned to expect nothing this year. So I wanna see the GnG come out and play with some fire! Go Pack!

I also would like to see a certain purple-helmeted team fall this afternoon to a certain avian-themed squad down here in the southwest. Just to keep things mildly interesting for a week.

I just turned 31, so how about a pick from #31 this week? Although his usual high level of play suits me fine.

Also, I'd like to see either Harrell or Malone show a flash of something promising -- a sack or at least a credible threat of pressure.

Go Pack Go!!!

This should be a pretty good ass kicking by the Packers I think. Let me know if anyone catches sight of Troy "Bust" Williamson.

Happy getting older. I think the packers play around with the OLine today if anyone faulters. I could see something where College ends up at LT and Sitton gets some time at RG with Spitz at center. Then we simply line up and run power right just to see how the young guys handle it. After Moll didn't get completely owned by super mario last week I almost got excited about something.

That was a sarcastic post made to mock our resident idiot and his belief that the reason for the collapse of the team this season was trading Favre away - because Favre inspired his defenses to play so well for him.

Which is a joke in and of itself, because we all know how great his defenses played for him in 2003, 2004, 2006, etc...

It has been more significant the last 3 or 4 weeks. They really miss Barnett out there. Even when Barnett isn't making plays he's getting his defense into better position to make plays by making veteran defensive calls and adjustments. It would be like losing Rodgers on offense. I thought Barnett was having a down year this year, but even still his absence is very noticeable.

Barnett's veteran leadership making defensive calls is what ails this defense the most IMO. Again, even if he isn't making plays he does a better job of making reads and getting his defense into position than Hawk has been. That's huge.

I'd say the QB just standing in the pocket is about 50% of it. The other 50% is the DL not even bothering to maintain gap integrity in the run game. At the end of the day, our front 4 is missing 3 of our best 6 lineman from a year ago. That's the difference.

No, because I think Zorn has done a pretty good job in Washington this year. Consider the division they play in, and that Portis has been playing through injury pretty much all season, and Jason Taylor started the season on the injury list, and so on and so forth. I think he's earned another year at the very least.

Rodgers en feugo. He's not much of a leader though. Once again, he hasn't raised the level of the defense although the offense is doing really well staying motivated. Huh?

Well, I guess it's not too hard to figure out. The offense has a lot of good self motivators and the defense depended on #4 for their inspiration.

Rodgers, personally, is having a very nice start. However, he's doing an awful job of inspiring the defense. Right now I would say that is the difference in this game. Really, it's been the difference in this season.

One TD in the half is not exactly a 'very nice start'. We'll see. He's been alright so far. This is average against a rebuilding Jags team.

Because the offense is keeping us in games that the defense is doing everything it has to do to lose. It seems you are giving the defense a pass when it doesn't deserve one. i haven't given the o a pass. i've been saying all season long they go 3 and out too much and depend on big plays too much. instead of going for first downs they're going for touchdowns. the defense ended up being on the field a lot more than the offense did. they'd get tired and taken advantage of. now the injuries on d and the play-soft scheme they now changed to is really killing them. MM's playcalling has sucked along with the offense inconsistancy. i said a couple of weeks ago that the d may suck but the o has sucked more.

third and two and MM calls that. what an idiot. we need first downs, not twenty five yards.

That was Rodgers' first incompletion on 3rd down all afternoon.

I don't mind the call. He took a shot when I'm sure the Jags' weren't expecting it. With the lead and the ball at midfield, I'm fine with the call.

Do they think they could show us a replay BEFORE they play 5 commercials?

If they had completed that pass and Jennings walks into the endzone, I'm sure you'd have been happy with the points even without the added first downs.

What Rodgers needs to do to inspire the defense like FAvre is to throw some interceptions.

Nothing inspires the defense more than getting plenty of playing time!

The A-Rod haters will find anything to cut him down.

Bud Lea was right in his article (thanks OPF for posting it). If the D makes it plays this year, we have minimum 3 more wins. We have a FG kicker make a long FG in the Twinkiedome, another win.

Partial, your obsession on knocking ARod is flat out silly.

please don't include me in the "hater" catagory. i think AR is good qb and will only get better. he just needs more experience and tallent around him...mainly a tight end and o line.

GBGARY,

None intent meant to include you. Apologies if it came across like it.

I liked Ryan when he was good. His problem was he was too inconsistent for me. For every 60 yard boomer he kicked he'd have a 15 yard shank.

don't like these 3rd and short play calls

Guiness

For those of us just following along here...can anyone explain what happened here:

3-1-JAC15 (3:40) D.Garrard pass short left to G.Estandia to JAX 18 for 3 yards (A.Hawk).
4-1-JAC15 (3:18) S.Weatherford punts 54 yards to GB 31, Center-J.Zelenka.

A 3rd and 1, three yard completion, then a punt on fourth and one?

I see there was a challenge - was the pass ruled incomplete?

I've been to three games this year and I've never noticed how many commercials they are playing now even at the game. It's totally annoying. At least they still make time to pan the crowd once in a while and pick out hot Mexican's sitting in the crowd for the jumbotron
