Does anyone remember what the sack record is? I know its around 22-24 sacks but I can't remember. Anyways I was looking at some stats and saw Ware has 19 sacks! That guy is amazing. Even porter has 17.5.

I thought it was like 22 or 22.5. Doesn't Strahan have it (on the gimme sack of Favre couple of years ago)?

Wow, so he only needs four sacks to beat the record. It should be interesting to see if he gets it.

Thanks for the link.

Most Sacks, Season
22.5 Michael Strahan, N.Y. Giants, 2001
22.0 Mark Gastineau, N.Y. Jets, 1984
21.0 Reggie White, Philadelphia, 1987
Chris Doleman, Minnesota, 1989

Deacon Jones and Coy Bacon allegedly had more sacks in a 14 games season, but the Sack wasn't a stat until '82.

No sack record will break the one set by Norman Willey of the Eagles in the 50's. "Wildman" had 15 in a single game and surely had more than 23 in that season! They have the stat & film on the game, but again it doesn't count. That was one bad say by that LT.

....of course #4 plays Porter the last game. Think he gives him one this time to give him the record?

Sure, as long as taking a dive won't cost the Jets a division championship.

Damn, Ray Edwards needs to average 10 sacks a game for the last two games.

Is the season going bad when I thought 'Sack Record' was going to be a record about how the Packers have the fewest amount of Sacks in their history or in the NFL...

I just researched it, they aren't on the bottom in the NFL, but I don't know about their history... I know this is the lowest sack total in awhile...

Ezra Johnson had 20 or 20.5 one year...

Tim Harris had 19.5 one year too... can't remember what year though, '89 maybe???

You'd think the QB would've brought a sidearm onto the field in the second half. Only question would be who got it first - Wildman, or the schmuck playing tackle!

Why not? Favre is true team playa...I thought that was pretty cool of Brett to do that. Strahan doesn't think it was so bad. As long as the Jets win (Brett's had them do that all year) and the game is not meaningful, sobeit....Pretty good stuff IMO. It's all tongue-in-cheek till a novel comes out (would love to read Brett's) but that shit happens all the time in the NFL.
