I think part of it is one thing that has been sloppy all year long - inopportune penalties.

I will need the great Patler to get all the details, but I know we've had multiple TD's (returns or pass plays) called back due to holding.

These are momentum killers. The Steelers aren't an offensive juggernaut, but they are a methodical, tough nosed team. Their receivers block well enough to take a guy out of a game (Ward did this to one of the Bengals).

It also doesn't hurt that their defense attacks the ball like no one else.

In short, they don't shoot themselves in the collective arse with dumb mistakes.

The responsibility of that falls on the players, but mainly the coach to ingrain how penalties and sloppy play are unacceptable.
