Saw this and couldn't resist sharing it...

Allen Gemaehlich, of the Daily Sentinel, reports Houston Texans TE Ben Steele is looking to land a roster spot in training camp. "I'm excited about it," Steele said. "I think it's a good fit. The Texans are an on-the-rise team. My chances are as good as ever. I knew something would happen, it was just when. I talked to some teams in the offseason and went through a change in agents." Steele is hoping a change in scenery will increase his opportunity to stick on an NFL roster. "Houston assistant head coach Mike Sherman) brought me in," Steele said of the Packers' former head coach. "He's my connection to Houston. It's good to have someone like have him on my side." Steele played for Sherman in Green Bay last season.

The pathetic thing is Ben actually thinks he can play in the NFL.

The really pathetic thing is Sherman obviously has a voice in the Texans decision making process.

Ben Steele will always rank among my favorite players, even if he was named after his hands.

of course between the two of us he was the only one who deserved any

We must never forget his fumble recovery against the Vikings. My greatest wish is that he makes the Texans and once again burns the Vikings.

Wow. THAT'S your greatest wish? Not winning the Superbowl this year?, not peace in the Middle East? Yikes.

Okay, you just keep on wishin. Besides, what are the chances of the ref blowing a call like that again and Steele just happening to be the beneficiary?

I'd be totally remiss if I didn't give the B-Man TOTAL credit for the ol' "Ben "Hands of" Steele joke.

Doesn't hurt anymore , last years sweep took away all the pain of that bad call. Water under the bridge. I was just amused that of all things to wish for, THAT is what you chose.

My greatest wish right now would be to win a 40 million dollar lottery or maybe become immortal....LOL....

Lottery....I'd retire right now and travel, keeping up with football via the internet. I wonder if anyone here would rather the Pack wins a SB or they win the lottery.....if there is someone I'd have to question their sanity....LOL

They airbrushed those pics a lot. It really looks more like the Superdome, post-floods, with port-a-potties in the stands and cracks in the roof (their version of retractable).

I have to concur. I would rather win the Lottery than have the Packers, Brewers and Bucks go undefeated for the next decade. Call me crazy.

Yea, I'm funny that way too. In fact, if every sports team I like could win the chamionsip of their sport every year for the next thousand years I'd take the money.....what a selfish bastard I am.

BlueBrewer
07-06-2006, 02:26 PM
Maybe selfish, but smart and honest, I would do the same. Pride in your team does not put gas in my truck or food on my table. I can handle rooting for the underdog for a few million.

If i could pick it would be let the packers win NONSTOP for the next DECADE than over taking the lottery, because i would still be rich, i would just ALWAYS put all my money on them if they were a "LOCK" ya kno....than i get the best of both worlds. And favre would stay another 10 years
wishful thinking i know

Here is a smart Chiquita!

This was my scenario, Pack wins many consecutive SB's and I cash in at Vegas, not just on the SB's, but on games every week!

I live in Vegas and get a night job auditioning Chorus girls for a consortium of Vegas Casinos. Oh Yeah Brother, then I would be living like Wahle and Verba!!

Yea, that's a pretty smart idea. BUT what would the superbowl odds be and how long would it take you to get 30 or 40 million? I used 40 million in my first example. I'd still take the money.

Pack0514
07-07-2006, 08:23 AM
You gotta take the money..... I love football, but my ass would be sleeping on a beach somewhere very warm in November and December.... I wouldnt have a TV in front of me. Although.... I cant lie, I would be checking scores, but I would sell the Packers wins for 40 Mill. Go ahead, call me a sellout, throw boulders, slowly pinch my balls til they pop.... I deserve it all.
