I watched a Newshour story on Obama's interview on Arab television.

I have to say Obama did an extremely effective sales job. The ARab journalist who praised Obama is a smart guy and no shill for the U.S., I'm impressed with his enthusiasm for Obama.

The Gitmo closing was a bitter pill to swallow. But maybe we'll see some benefits from the new face on America.

I understand why he did it. But it wasn't as if this country was jackbooting all over the Arab world.

A day or two after 9/11 Pres. Bush went to a mosque to show he had no ill will vs. peace loving Muslims or Islam in general. This country, as a whole, did not persecute Muslims after 9/11. We did go where terrorists were hiding (Afghanistan) and where multiple countries purported WMDs were being stashed.

I think he is trying to do the "win the hearts and minds" of the Arab world. He came across as overly apologetic when he didn't need to be.
