Just for the hell of it, who do you think will be the
best players in the division for the 2009 Season?

QB Aaron Rodgers, PAckers
RB Adrian Peterson, Vikings; Matt Forte, Chicago
FB ??
WR Greg Jennings, Packers; Calvin Johnson, Lions
TE Greg Olsen, Bears
T Jeff Backus, Lion; Bryant McKinnie, Minnesota
G Steve Hutchinson, Vikings; Daryn Colledge, Packers
C Matt Birk, Vikings

DT Pat Williams, Vikings; Kevin Williams, Vikings
DE JAred Alen, Vikings; Aaron Brown, Bears
LB Chad Greenway, Vikings; Brain Urlacher, Bears; Lance BRiggs, Bears
CB Charles Woodson, Packers; Antoine Winfield, Minnesota
S Mike Brown, Bears, Nick Collins, Packers

K Jason Hanson, Lions
P Brad Maynard, Bears
PR Will Blackmon, Packers
KR Devin Hester, Bears

I know Mike Brown is long in the tooth, but I think he still makes that defense with his heady play and hard hitting.

The Bears DE is ALEX Brown. And if I'm not mistaken, the Bears DE's had a terrible year. Aaron Kampman deserves that spot.

Are you a bears fan or something? Because Aaron Kampman should be right behind Jared Allen, and Urlacher is garbage now.

I was thinking of 2009 season, and I left Kampman off because he is being moved to Linebacker. maybe he will be an allstar there too, we'll see.

you weren't paying attention. Colledge is the best packer lineman now. you'll see, amigo.

uhhh, no, he's still damn good. Maybe the defensive line in front of him has slipped a good distance.

I'm no personnell guru, I wanted to see other peoples lists.

Nice list. I'd put Korey Hall in at FB. I think E.J. Henderson deserves the MLB spot over Urlacher.

My value of your opinion has dropped considerably.

College was probably our best OL this season. Our offense put up quite a few points. Rodgers had comparable numbers to Manning. If our best OL sucked then how did all that happen?

Where I disagree:

I like Grant as much as Forte, so I give him the homer edge.
I think Olsen is overrated and can't block...but not sure who is better.
Tommie Harris is Better than the one williams (kevin is the lesser I think)
I would take Kampman over Aaron Brown (position change notwithstanding)
I am still an Al Harris fan so he is still better than Winfield (but close)
Finally Hester is better Punt and Kick than Blackman.

WRONG. Harris in not better than either of them and Kevin is the more important and/or greater of the two Williamses.

Otherwise I agree with most of what you said. I think Winfield would make a great nickle back after Harris and Woodson. Don't forget about Kevin Smith either, he looked sharp at times despite playing on a terrible team.

I would put Simms in there for LB... He's pretty good

I would take Hester off the list because they use Manning more than Hester. They want Hester to become a WR more than a kick returner. I would also put Crosby as the best kicker in the division. He's going to have a hell of a year.

gbpackfan

Devin Hester was taken of the kick return team. He only returns punts now. Manning is the Bears KR.

I think the linebackers are particularly hard to compare. Their play-making opportunities are influenced so much by how they are used, and how good the defensive line is in front of them.

If you put all the players together from the four teams into one training camp, its hard to say who would win the starting jobs. At linebacker, maybe Erlacher, Sims and Barnett would win a fair competition. Who knows what linemen are really the best, and which benefit from having good teammates.
