From Stillman (division II) quietly had a very nice combine.

6'4" @ 329 lbs
40 Yrd Dash: 5.12
20 Yrd Dash: 2.96
10 Yrd Dash: 1.72
Bench Press: 27
Vert jump: 28
Broad jump: 9'01"
20 Yrd Shuttle: 4.97
3-cone: 7.89

Compare to Raji's

6'1" @ 337 lbs
40 Yrd Dash: 5.12
20 Yrd Dash: 2.98
10 Yrd Dash: 1.69
Bench Press: 33
Vert jump: 32
Broad jump: 08'07"
20 Yrd Shuttle: 4.68
3-cone: 7.90

I think he's probably worked his way into the 3rd round or higher. He's got the size to be a NT. He played 4-3 DE in college so he just might project well as a 3-4 DE for us too. Top notch character too. I read the transcript from a newspaper interview and he answered all of his questions "Yesir/Nosir." Although I don't know how much manners are valued in the NFL. Also interesting is that he saved a man from a burning house last year.

I wrote a little more about him in this thread: http://packerrats.com/ratchat/viewtopic.php?t=16687&start=40

Wow. The due's got a throwback name, if nothing else. Sounds like some southern boy who will end up a fan favorite.

Myron Pryor had a very nice combine as well:

6'0" @ 319 lbs
40 Yrd Dash: 5.08
20 Yrd Dash: 2.93
10 Yrd Dash: 1.67
Bench Press: DNP
Vert jump: 30"
Broad jump: 8'11"
20 Yrd Shuttle: 4.75
3-cone: 8.16

His 3 cone is slow (many of the defensive front 7 were unusually slow, a new field might do that) and had a mediocre shuttle, but his straight line speed and explosion is top notch for a guy his size. At 6'0" he has a good deal of natural leverage.

Another guy that caught my attention was Chris Baker from Hampton.

6'2" and 326 lbs
40 Yrd Dash: 4.94
20 Yrd Dash: 2.90
10 Yrd Dash: 1.70
Bench Press: 24
Vert jump: 35 1/2
Broad jump: 08'10"
20 Yrd Shuttle: 4.90
3-Cone Drill: 8.07

Not as big of a fan of him though. He was kicked off Penn state in 2007. High risk of tardhood.

Ahmad Carroll didn't save a guy from a burning house. He also can't play both positions on a 3-4 Defensive Line.

Not even Sammie Lee Hill could save Ahmad Carroll from getting burned.

Post of the year so far.

Nice how that tied the whole thread together.

Don't get to caught up with combine numbersGreat athlete does not equal NFL success.

But right now there won't be a single player drafted in April who has NFL experience - so it is all potential.

Athleticism is just one part of the equation in evaluating a player's potential. Heart, teamwork, leadership, and coachability are a few of the others but it is really tough to put a number on those to compare prospects with.

He did, however, save himself from getting burned by grabbing guys who would've taken it to the house.
