He’s a player the Packers at least will have had to consider drafting at No. 9 overall, and some scouting services rate him as a top-10 prospect. But all of the scouts I’ve talked to said he’s not dominant enough a pass rusher to warrant taking in the top 10 or 15 considering he’s a one-dimensional player. One of the scouts rated him a second-rounder.

I don't consider him to be top 10, but I think he'll be drafted in the first round, I like Maybin better.

Yeah, I definitely don't want Brown at 9... as I've said in other threads, he has that look of a typical FSU DE.

Somebody posted in another thread his sack #'s... he put up multiple sacks in single games, against inferior T's, but was either completely shut out, or generally unproductive in too many games. That's not a good sign.

Plus, FSU had him listed at 6'3", whereas he measured in at 6'1"+ at the combine... typical FSU DE. Just don't see it with this guy.

I have concerns about Maybin as well, and don't want him at 9 either... would much rather take Orakpo, Raji, or one of the OT's. Coming around on Jackson a little bit, but wouldn't be thrilled with that pick either.

Personally, I don't think many of this years 1st round talent is 1st round talent. I really looked at this and personally think this is a 2nd-4th round talent draft.

I too don't like Brown at the # 9 spot. Maybe it's the whole FSU DE thing, his size....whatever. I think he should go in the late 1st, early 2nd...but that's just my opinion.

I get a little frustated when mock drafts have him go to the Pack at # 9. I know most mock draft "experts" or whatever you want to call them, usually have just general knowledge of team needs and just plug in the BPA that fits a need at their spot. However, I just don't see him as being a TT pick, especially if the Pack stays at # 9.

I don't care where he's from, but dominate linemen that are supposedly top 15 picks don't get dominated by an average Badger squads TE consistently throughout the game.

Good athlete, not a great football player imo.

Not only is Everette Brown a bad pick due to a questionable pedigree and low upside, he's also a bad pick because the draft is stocked with DE/OLB tweeners. He's not really much better than Cody Brown, but he's going to be taken 2 rounds earlier.

The Florida State stigma for de remains -- fast end that rush up the field while disregarding the run.

Usually TT stays away from flashy players.

i say we trade down for an extra 3rd with someone in the middle of the round and pick up jackson.....t-jack and t-will will form the core of our defense for years to come

Personally, I think people are a little too negative about the guy. He does seem to be slipping a bit though, as almost no one is projecting him to go top 10. It is true that the DE/OLB position is deep this year, with at least 8 guys likely to go in the first 2 rounds. Good chance TT grabs one in round 2.

I think he's going to be a good pass rusher. I like the way he played at FSU a lot.

I understand why he's dropping, especially on 4-3 teams boards. He's only 6-1.5". That is awfully short for a DE and he doesn't have the weight either.

His size almost casts him into strictly a LB role or pass rush specialist role. Teams that couldn't use him as a LB would have a hard time spending a #1 on a 1 down player.

His only real skill was rushing the passer. I was much higher on him when I thought he was taller and could continue to fill out his frame (and when I thought we were a 4-3 team). I know height is only a number, but I thought he could fill out to about 265 like Osi or Kamp. Unfortunately he doesn't have that kind of frame but seems to play a DE style game.

I still think he's going to rack up sacks in the NFL. I just don't know if he can be a full time player. He's a scary pick. I don't think he'll be strongly considered for the #9 unless they know something about overall LB skills that we do not.

Agreed, he gave Snake's Beamer the best car wash/waxy shine I'd ever had in GB last summer at the local car wash. He's found his niche.

Stay away from the FSU DE though, seriously, as noted above....lots of good tweeners to pick from...Just not him at #9.

Agree with most posters here...he sounds like a JR clone.

How many FSU DL guys succeed? Dockett is the only one I can think of.

Throwing the FSU curse out the window -- IIRC his vertical leap wasn't good, which makes me wonder about how explosive he really is. He's a high character guy, but he's just a speed rusher. Your average starting NFL OT can neutralize a guy like him without much trouble.

Personally, I think he's a reach at 9.

I have a hunch TT is going to pick Larry English at #9 because I also have a hunch Dom Capers likes him.
