anthers acquired LS J.J. Jansen from the Packers in exchange for an undisclosed draft choice in 2011.

The pick is likely conditional based on how long Jansen lasts in Carolina. The Panthers are moving on from longtime snapper Jason Kyle. Jansen, a 2008 undrafted free agent, spent his rookie season on injured reserve.

Jansen fer Jansen, eh?

That TT is a tricky dog.

So if Jansen sticks this year we get a 7th round pick in 2010? Sound about right?

Either way, Goode was solid last year so to get anything for Jansen is solid.

TT is warming up his trade engine. 11 days and counting!

Presumably we get an undisclosed draft choice in 2010, since there may not be any draft in 2011.

an undisclosed pick. 2 yrs from now?

That's awful close to getting traded for a bag of pucks

I'm not seeing anything anywhere that confirms the 2011 draft pick, I'm just seeing "future conditional draft pick", which I'm guessing is a 2010 pick.

Good trade. Get something for nothing basically.

I think a conditional 7th round pick 2 years from now is the least compensation for any player trade I have ever seen in the NFL. Has anybody else seen a more trivial trade I'm unaware of?

Has any GM ever gotten a pick when trading their LS? Has a LS ever been traded before?

I doubt it... T.T. will trade anything for another pick... The Lambeau goal post for a conditional 5th... His cheesehead for a 2020 conditional 7th rounder...

The NFL should allow the Packers to expand their roster to 897 players, and TT should just be given his own round at the end of the draft... an 8th round dedicated exclusively to TT.

He certainly is a mover and shaker... stunning in his boldness.

I think given that this is the NFL, getting moved for pucks would be much worse.

Another thing. I hope this shuts up all the people that say TT won't make the big move.

Wolf used to do trades for past or future considerations - the 'here's a freebie cause we're friends' trade.

You've got to give it to TT to get a pick for a street FA who ended up on the IR. We went through a few LSs last year. Is this the guy who made the team out of camp? Did he even dress for us for a game?

Got hurt in the final preseason game and was subsequently placed on IR. Was slated to be our LS last season up until that injury. Goode was picked up in his stead, and had performed well enough during the season to earn the spot heading into this year.

Shush...PackerChatter's Ace Joe Arrigo now reports with the huge upside from this trade TT's happy to silence longtime critics.

Ted Thompson, General Manager of the Green Bay Packers has announced, "It's a great day here in PackerLand. I've decided to let one young boy in my captivity above ground from my basement for a look at the springtime surroundings." Ted has said, "It's not like I'm letting him go free, just a look around, but I'm amicably appeased and much pleased that I pulled off such a blockbuster deal. I may let his siblings get some fresh air if I have some off-time from pulling these major deals to better the franchise."
