Interesting that his experience includes:
The Brewers coordinating financing for the new stadium construction.
Potowatomi Casino during their huge expansion.

Supposedly the Packers have bought up land and plan expansion into other areas of a fan’s “Packers Experience”. He might be the guy to handle this.

Vicki didn't last too long. Sounds like she got squeezed.

The guy might be able to help us create a Packer Theme Park with a Casino and Beer slide, eh?

You think so? She was with the Packers for 14 years, but was VP just a year or so. I heard it really was a surprise to the organization. The public pronouncement was that she wanted to stay at home with her kids because her husband had just been sent to Afghanistan, and her job required more time than she wanted to give while her husband was away.

Patler, sometimes your innocence is just too sweet.

Don't you know that the Packers have final say on who gets shipped to A-stan? This was all part of the plan, my stats-loving friend.

Now there you go, starting another of those "you know who hit a coach" rumors!

Yeah I was wondering where the team was with this thing. From everything I've read and heard they want to one up the Foxboro experience at Patriot Place. They've been slowing doing stuff since TT came to town, but I knew of the land deals and was aware that this was in the pipeline.

I figured though that they run the stadium area like an airport, with aggressive 5, 10, and 25 year plans, always rethinking and adjusting the plans, and always working toward those goals.

Their thing strikes me a lot like a new runway (the big ones at OEP's that cost 1B+). Quiet behind the scenes stuff for years, taking twice as long as anticipated, then BAM, it happens.

There had been some work scheduled to start I believe this summer, just something relatively small, but they decided to postpone it because of the decline in their paper wealth when the stock market tanked and their decline in profits in 2008. Murphy said it just wasn't a good time to take on something like that.

I found it, from last October:

In other Packers project news, Murphy said plans for the expansion of the Lambeau Field Atrium have been put on hold. The plans call for a plaza that would wrap around the Atrium from the Oneida Nation Gate on the east side to the Miller Brewing Company Gate on the north end of the stadium. The plaza would allow for convenient fan movement between the gates, especially during times of heavy use at the Oneida Nation Gate. The project also would involve other components such as underground parking and additional space for football and business operations.

Murphy indicated the project eventually will proceed, but at a to-be-determined time in the future.

"For a combination of reasons, we felt it prudent to put the project on hold for the time being," Murphy said. "With the current uncertain economic climate, we thought it would be wise to take a conservative fiscal approach to a project of this scope and make sure we're spending our money wisely.

"Additionally, this is the first phase of multiple components of a long-term plan that includes the development of land purchased in recent years near the stadium. We want to look at all phases of the development and make sure each component appropriately complements the others. By taking more time to study all our options, we're confident we'll be doing that."

"The Atrium expansion project would improve operations, upgrade aesthetics and address fan safety and convenience," said Patrick Webb, executive director of the Green Bay-Brown County Professional Football Stadium District. "While the project remains in long-term plans for Lambeau Field, we support the team's decision to defer the project given the current state of the financial markets and overall economic conditions."

Or a Packer/Indian casino partnership with enough isolation that the NFL doesn't get upset.

Damn that TT is good. I suppose we'll be hearing about a certain retired QB being shipped out soon then?

It wasn't too small actually. One of the projects included an underground parking garage for the players. I would assume the main point of doing that would to accommodate more parking on game day for the general public.

I guess I don't understand why they are not focusing on doing something about one of the biggest money makers....parking. The Packers lose so much money because they don't have anywhere near enough parking. Why won't they listen to my plan of building a tiered parking garage where the empty HOF sits and have a skyway across the parking lot directly into the stadium? That parking garage would benefit not only the Packers, but the Resch Center, Arena and ShopKo Hall as well. From a taxpayers standpoint, it also irritates me that the old HOF, which sits on prime real estate just sits there to the tune of 43k a month upkeep, utilities, etc.

GBM fer leader!

When I take a Kentucky buddy to Lambeau for the experience, they are all shocked that Lambeau essentially sits in a residential neighborhood with such a small parking area.

Don't they have some other land that could go to a parking structure?

If they really want to create an exciting "Packer experience" the team should begin to offer auctions on certain activities: you could bid to play GM and actually make a sixth round pick for the team. You could be the high bidder and win the right to decide whether to go for it on 4th and 1 or go for the field goal - though you would also have to explain the move in the post-game presser when the move ends up costing the Packers the game.

You could auction off the sal-cap guy's job for one season, so the team can finally spend all its salary cap room instead of hoarding gold coins in the underground garage the team has secretly built.

Or, if you prefer, you could figure out ways to not spend the cap money so you could stand knee-high in gold sovereigns with Teddy and cackle madly while running your hands through the coins.

You could pay for the privilege of calling one of the Packer players a "pussy" in the news media - and experience the joy of having the guy confront you in the locker room after practice.

I'm an idea guy. What can I say?
