Without a doubt the best player in the NFL is Peyton Manning. Dude is A) a QB (most important position), B) the best QB in the game, C) coach on the field, etc.

Ray Lewis

I dont really like him, but you have to respect what he does for the Ravens defense. Truely a leader and a player, even at his current age.

Leadership is something that is extremely underrated. I completely agree that Lewis is the heart and soul of that team. We need a guy like that to lead the troops into battle. Barnett has a chance to be imho.

When I saw that topic the first guy that jumped out to me in today's NFL was

Adrian Peterson

I don't think Manning is the best QB so it's hard for me to name him right now

I could understand saying LT three years ago, but the guy has clearly lost a step and isn't the all-around rushing and receving terror he was before 2007. If I had to rank NFL RBs right now I would put LT behind Peterson and maybe Chris Johnson. In terms of ranking overall players in the NFL I would have a hard time putting him in the top 20. Top three, IMO, are Brady, Manning and AP.
