So, yeah...

There's been too many threads about Favre 'round here in recent history. It's become way more Packer centric as of recent times, thanks to outstanding performances in the pre-season. I am stoked for the regular season.

So - in the spirit of recent times on this board, I elect to continue our own PackerRats "streak" if you will, in good fashion.

I will not start another thread about Favre.

Instead, I will start one about his jersey.

Now, I watched tonights Queens/Texans game, and I'll circle back to that momentarily, but first let's go back to the over-orchestrated and highly staged day that Favre flew to MN and signed with the rival.

When approaching the podium - Favre is there with Wilf & whomever holding up his new "#4" jersey. And just for a second, I get the feeling that all three of them in the spotlight looked at the jersey and thought the same thing:

"Ummm...that jersey looks a couple sizes too big" - they thought. So did I.

------------------------------------

Now quickly flash forward to tonights MNF pre-season game. What did my eyes behold?

Favre wearing a jersey that appears to actually be a size or 2 bigger than what is called for.

Did anyone else notice this?

I mean, it kinda looks like he used to be a big fat lineman. Then he maybe had some gastro-bypass surgery, but he continues to wear the same jersey post-op.

WTF is up with that? Am I insane?

I have an actual game jersey, NFL actual game not a replica, not a game worn. Signed by Favre in a shadow frame. It looks like that. it only gathers at the sleeves and waist.

Sorry Ras. I forgot you're a Queens fan.

Despite the punctuation indicating such, those are actually 2 independent questions.

Question 1:

WTF is up with that? (the jersey bit)

Question 2:

Am I insane? (strictly rhetorical - no response necessary)

Ok -

So seriously - WTF is up with Favre and his "Big & Tall" jersey?

?

You're not insane, unless we both are. I noticed this too, but not until tonight when I saw him on TV. I'm not really sure why I did take notice, but I clearly wouldn't have given it a second thought if it wasn't a Purple 4.

I couldn't help but just stare at it.

speaking of his jersey; you know its STILL #1 seller right?!

I got email today from nfl shop.com telling me that my order is delayed and they will let me know when they get more in stock! dayum! i ordered it the day after he signed, not the day off b/c i was too lazy to go get wallet out my truck....maybe i can get one from a local sporting goods spot and cancel my order

ALOT of favre lovers out there obviously; buying up his jerz

Brett Favre -

Even past his prime, still has the proverbial "it" factor to set the league on fire.

It was just the generic Packer logo. Man, that was a LONG time ago.

After shelling out the cash to buy a new #12 Jersey, getting rid of an otherwise perfectly good #4 Jersey just added fuel to the fire.

I was thinking that was it. I can remember a lot of them, but maybe the more generic ones have slipped my mind.

They were wrong when they said nobody would find a use for Favre's locker and its left-over contents.
