Here's to a strong drive by the O, a TO on defense, starters out (injury free) and some bubble guys to step up and make the cuts a lot easier with strong performances.

pbmax
09-03-2009, 07:28 PM
Well, so far so good for Brohm.

I suspect, with all the slants, that the play calling may have been Brian friendly. But not a bad way to start setting him up for success.

He had on throw to Havner where he came off the primary read on a 5 step drop (I think). He looked much more settled. Not calm, but better. he wasn't floating around.

Brohm's still looking like a #3 qb, but that's an improvement I'll be content with.

The 2nd string O-line stinks in run blocking though. They are all playing like Moll.

I don't think these Packers vs Titans preseason games are building a Packer fanbase in Tennessee. It's so predictable! And what's with this Titan full throttle in their last preseason game anyway? They should save some fire to avoid any more post season fizzle.

His accuracy seems to be an issue. Being a scrambling QB is a handicap in the NFL.

VY reminds me of a less athletic Vick. He needs to develop into a pocket passer if he wants to win a SB.

Michael, what are you proposing though, they down the ball and then punt every drive? These are the guys trying to make that final roster.....I would guess it's the same with Green Bay. The last few spots mean lots of money or going home with nothing.

Not at all! I'm not watching the game but doesn't Fischer usually use loads of starters in their last preseason game? VY is playing heavy minutes but what about the rest? Is it all a battle of final roster spots? There isn't many Packer starters playing today!

I don't think these Packers vs Titans preseason games are building a Packer fanbase in Tennessee. It's so predictable! And what's with this Titan full throttle in their last preseason game anyway? They should save some fire to avoid any more post season fizzle.

Young is a backup. Who is still playing that starts?

I will say that different teams have different views on the 4th preseason game.

I personally think it's dumb to not play starters a quarter but almost no teams do that. If someone does that I have no issue with it...start the season sharp, not running scared from injuries.....Vikings will start no starters Friday and I think it's dumb.

How did Young look? I see he ran a td and passed for one at least. Didn't watch. What say you?

He looked good. Not great, but good. Tenn announcers were positve about his growth, maturity, accepting of backup role.

He looked like a sound backup. He is on the right path, like Leinart.

I thought the same about Leinart after last week. Playing with TONS more confidence than he did as a rookie. Looks like he might actually belong now.

Leinart has changed physically and mentally. One of the things they worked on was his strength and his core. Apparently, at USC he didn't need to put that much zip on the shorter routes...so he kinda lofted them in. That has changed.

The bandwagon is back on for him....he had'em, lost'em, now has them again. There are actually people that want him to start.

Backup QB is always the most popular guy on the team...

How long has Leinhart been in the league? Smith/Rodgers - Young/Leinhart - Ryan - Stafford, right?(I'm too lazy to look)

If it's his 3rd year, then that's probably about the right amount of seasoning time.

Leinart was really unpopular here. He had to work to get what he has now. He came into this season having to fight for the backup position...beating out Brian St. Pierre...so that shoud tell you how bad they thought he had played.

So then there's hope for Brohm? But seriously I saw some improvement with him last night. He finally ditched the glove and didn't look like a deer in headlights. It did appear MM and company were taking a hard look at the group of RBs to decide who to keep and who to cut tomorrow.

Last night I finally had to mute the TN stream and have Paul's stream minimized so I could hear what was going on about the Pack. Those TN announcers didn't even mention that Raji had a sprained ankle!!
