Would you be in favor of keeping 2 QB's on the roster and filling the "3rd QB" spot with another position.

The way I look at it, I would rather have the packers go into the season with 2 QB's and save that last roster spot for someone else. If Rodgers or Flynn gets hurt you can easily activate Brohm off of the practice squad...

I think the packers did this back in 07 (not sure) with just Favre and Rodgers, until they both got hurt against the Patriots, then they signed another backup...

I think the Patriots might do the same thing with Tom Brady... but its to early to tell...

If Rodgers goes down along with Flynn, i'll pack it up and call it a season anyway... I say stick with the 2!

I think as long as there's a lot of veterans just sitting around at home waiting for phone calls, we can be fine with 2. If you get a QB injury that will put a guy on the shelf for mmore than a week, just pick up a veteran and make it work.

Really, if Rodgers goes down we're screwed anyway.

well, for one, the backup qb is already hurt. so we have one qb

and in case rodgers goes down i would like the backup to know something about the playbook and how to run it. so i would like 3

Oh yeah, I did read that he signed somewhere. Well, at least we have 3 centers, 3 fullbacks, and Spencer the Frankenbacker.

1 Frankenbacker (kudos to Bob for making up that term)

Definitely 3 QB's. I have seen too many injuries to NFL quarterbacks over the years to think a team can get by on just 2. Signing Brohm to the practice squad in effect gives the team 3 QBs.

As I understand it, the league makes it easier to carry 3 by letting you keep the 3rd as game day inactive, but letting him play if the first two get hurt. In essense, teams carrying 3 QB's get 46 game day actives. I want 3.

Maybe Havner can be the 3rd QB.

If Flynn is healthy: I favor 2. I mean, when are you really going to use that 3rd QB? 2 guys ahead of him have to get hurt, and that is not likely to happen ever. If AR, as example, went down and flynn has to finish the game,,, so? Say AR can't go the following week. He would be inactive, and we would promote or ad a 3rd qb... but on the active roster that would still just be 2.

So... 2 is fine with me. 3 to me is overkill at aposition where the backup rarely ever sees the field. Back up to the back up isn't getting in there. As long as you haev two healthy QB's going into each game, that is plenty.

3 QBs

1 Frankenbacker (kudos to Bob for making up that term)

I watched the 4th quarter of the Titans game.

Frankenbacker made more plays than I thought.

I am now somewhat at peace with the Frankenbacker concept.

Now invent a term for Swain, the WR/CB.

We're discussing possibly 3 QB's. Other teams are going with 4.

Well Ruvell was always the emergency option, and he's gone now too. Wasn't Woodson next in line?

I do like the concept of giving Brohm more time to develop without actually paying him a real salary. Seems fair to me.
