From the sounds of it, I think TT made a good pick-up here. Considering what was on the market, this is probably close to best thing you can get.

I'd agree...looks to have game experience (started 5 games in place of Champ Bailey), youth (2nd year pro), size (5'11")/speed (4.5 40 yard dash) combo that is acceptable.

Good call BallHawk. Did you read all the peeps bitching in the comments under the blog? They want washed up Mike McKenzie who'll prob. want a few million anyway. Good pickup Ted!

Josh "Cow" Bell.

What the heck. Why not sign him. Sounds as good as any retread out there.

Sounds like a nice pickup. 5 games of starting experience, graduated with a degree in chemistry, etc. Probably not going to do too much better on the market at this time of the year.

He expects to play Thursday. That seems awfully quick.

McKenzie signed elsewhere. I know, that's TT's fault...

He'll probably play on special teams and as an emergency backup. We don't have another true CB after Underwood after all, so one more injury would have made nickle D rather difficult and dime impossible.

At least Bell will have the long weekend to study the playbook after turkey day.

I never thought I'd miss Will Blackmon's coverage abilities though....

Not for man to man coverage and I hope he is awfully quick

Hopefully he doesn't play as though he should be working at Taco Bell. :)

He does look good on paper, though.

Some discussion on Bell on this Broncos forum:

http://forums.denverbroncos.com/showthread.php?t=157268

Not surprisingly, opinions on him are mixed but seem to be fairly favorable overall. There were some that indicated surprise that he was cut at the end of training camp.

Also of interest, that forum has some clamoring for Ingle Martin to start at QB...

Thanks for the insight. Interesting. Sounds like he might provide some depth once he's acclimated.

If nothing else, he has his career as a virtuoso violinist to fall back on.

Bell said that he was ready to do anything the Packers asked of him.

"I plan on getting in my book as hard as I can and be in the coaches’ disposal," he said.

Asking him to work in the kitchen might be too much.

Ingle Martin had arm strength and athletic ability similar to Tarvaris Jackson coming out. He's just waiting for a chance to breakout.
