The monitor and/or video adapter on our notebook computer died, so we had to go find a new notebook. We spent 3 minutes deliberating at Sam's Club before getting one of these HPs with all the wacky tattoo patterns on it. The new LED screens really improve battery life.

I have to say, we never, for one second, considered getting an apple.

My laptop died a couple of weeks back too. I bought another thinkpad, this time a T400.

I never even considered anything else either. Bought it online, and had it shipped to the house... Came with both XP and Windows 7 Professional. Professional is very nice so far.

We live in a NON APPLE household, and intend to keep it that way.

I cant remember if it was 700 or 800, but either way, I don't really give a fuck about getting a deal on a notebook anymore. What was important is that Sams offers a really reasonable extended warranty - out to 4 years. I know this thing will break before then. I can run adobe applications and my wife can play games on facebook. Thats all I ask.

I'm sure you two would have bought an Apple laptop if you only had kept an open mind and listened. They save you .0038 nanoseconds per click, and if that doesn't provide the ultimate user experience - nothing will.

Once you losers are able to drag your slime covered bodies out of the mesozoic you'll buy Macs.

I'm a PC and Windows 7 was my idea.

I might buy a mac if I weren't afraid of becoming a crazed zealot.

Me too. I'm just not ready to commit that much to a product. If I could get the computer without having to buy the way of life that comes with then I'd be in business.

Or Apple will come out of the Paleozoic and open the OS to more than just their hardware, they can become a more wide-spread OS. Why would I pay $1800 for the identical machine I can build for $700? Do I really need to pay for their R&D team to make more neon plastic cases?

The decision by Apple not to license their OS made Bill Gates the richest man in the world. Why change now.

One of my sisters talked my mother into buying one.....needless to say I was pissed because as soon as she had any problems she called me.
