Wow, Manning had a heated exchange on the sideline just now because he got pulled. Stop the presses. Let's hope this story has legs.

So the coach caved and put him back in?

Fortunately the coach accurately understood the situation so he did not. Had it been a 7-6 game with nothing clinched I am guessing the decision would have been the reverse.

This is the Packer Board Ras. You are going to have to move this discussion to the Romper Room.

Or he might not have been stupid enough to pull his starting QB in the first place and then have a visible shouting match about it that he ultimately loses.

Did he? I didn't see the game, but his post-game comments were very unFavre-like:

"We are followers of our head coach and the organization, people who give us direction,'' Manning said. "That's what our job is, to take instructions and follow those instructions. ...

"There was no head coach-quarterback argument of any sort.''

Manning actually remained in control of himself and came out of the game. And then he didn't throw his coach under the bus after the game.

He's become a team player.

Colts lose in their first game in the playoffs. Guarenteed.

It's proven year in and year out (save the cardinals last season) - when you have things wrapped up and you start playing to stay healthy, you exit very quickly from the playoffs. Players know it, and so do the analyts. Everytime teams do this they are hurting themselves for the playoffs, not helping.

You can't expect a team to magically turn it on after 2 or 3 week vacation.

Then explain why Bill Polian thinks you are dead wrong, please.

If I'm the Colts I'd want to stay pretty sharp as the Chargers are playing lights out and the Patriots are always dangerous come playoff time
