It's been an odd season statistically for the Packers in terms of points scored, points allowed, and overall record.

GB's lone game with less than 20 points scored was a 17-7 victory over Dallas, every other game has been 21+ points scored for the Packers.

GB is 10-0 when allowing less than 30 points, 0-5 when allowing 30 points or more. The key to playoff success for GB seems to be to avoid the shootout.

Only one other NFL team (the 12-3 Chargers) is also undefeated when allowing less than 30 points. And like GB, the Chargers are 0-3 when they've allowed 30+ points.

In fact, the Chargers are the team most similar to the Packers this season when it comes to scoring.

# Games with 20 or fewer points scored

Packers 1
Opponents 9

Chargers 1
Opponents 9

Both teams have failed to score 20 points once, and have held their opponent to 20 or fewer points 9 times.

21-29 points scored

Packers 8
Opponents 1

Chargers 8
Opponents 3

30+ points scored

Packers 6
Opponents 5

Chargers 6
Opponents 3

By this measure, the difference in record between GB and SD has been two fewer 30+ points allowed games by the Chargers.

That arouses my interest as I like numbers.

Fascinating perspective.

So...
Anywhere near decent defense = win.

We need Ryan Pickett back healthy.
