I swear McCarthy wants Rodgers to get the record...

What are the odds he's not even following that ?
I could see MM wanting to play one series out of the half and then out

I don't know; unless they have the opportunity to draft a great depth back, ala CJ Spiller (not saying that's likely, but if) then Green would likely not stick around for the roster spot, although I'd like to see them decide between Kuhn and Hall for FB. Put it this way, I'd take Green for one more year over DWynn

It's an interesting situation, assuming Green Bay wins next week both divisional round matchups will feature a team that is comparatively hot (Green Bay wins 8 of the last 9; Philadelphia wins 7 of the last 8, or Dallas wins four in a row) visiting a team coming off a bye who is, to be generous, not hot (New Orleans with 3 losses in a row to end the season, and Minnesota losing 3 of 5 to end the season).

I suppose this is another test of "which is better come playoff times: to be good and at home or hot and on the road".

However, if Arizona wins we won't get this interesting storyline, so lets beat Arizona three times this year.

Exciting season. We look to be relatively healthy. Clifton and Tausher will sell out their bodies to play good in these playoff games. If our defense can find a way to hold up against the potent passing attacks, who knows? We have a chance. We're relatively healthy.

McCarthy said they came out relatively healthy (I'm assuming if he thought Woodson was out, he wouldn't say that). I think Woodson is OK. I'm sure it bothers him a little, but it's a shoulder, not a leg, so I think he'll be ready.

nice run by Grant; his style kind of reminds ya of Eddie George

Except that Grant almost always goes down on first contact...while George routinely carried people 5 yards.

I'm just reading the game thread now.

As I was watching the game I had the same thought about Grant and Eddie. I think it might have been because they mentioned that he is 6'2" and 225, a big tall back just like Eddie was.

Then, as I thought about it I recalled that Eddie was way more of a punishing back; he often broke into the second level after delivering a big blow to one or more linebackers head on.

I thought of Terrel Davis, but Terrel tended to hit the hole and cut back in.

Grant, time after time cuts into a little opening and kind of shoots out and up. His great runs look very much alike. He has a great feel for when to hit the gas, Today he even turned the corner a time or two and looked really fast.

Nice.

mission
01-03-2010, 11:11 PM
Didnt Grant need 48 yards or something to reach 1250 yds and the 1.5 mil performance bonus?

Looks like he got it by a few yards. Nice to see MM push it to make sure. He deserves that nice little cookie.
