The Iowa OT has been picked in some mock drafts as the Packers pick. He would be a logical choice. He will be playing tonight in the Orange Bowl. He hasn't officially committed to the draft yet, but seems to be leaning that way. Anybody seen him play enough to have an opinion on him?

Hey funny you should mention him. He went to high school with my son(Bulagas older). Nice kid, nice family. Played tight end here. I have watched Iowa some because a friends daughter is a cheerleader there too. Local papers are saying he could be a top 10-15 choice.

Watch him today...

Still not a huge fan of high draft pick O linemen...I think you really just need to find 5 decent guys and keep them together to gel.

Looks like an NFL starter out there.

He's had some huge off tackle blocks, just pushing DEs completely out of the picture and he looks pretty nimple, with good feet, in pass protection.

He's actually going against a guy who would be great in our 3-4 opposite Matthews... Derrick Morgan. Guy is lights out. Morgan just forced a scramble/quick throw as I type this =/

I don't know anything about the guy outside of tonight's game, but #94 Claiborne for Iowa looks like a beast out there. Another strongside OLB type.

He is having a dominating performance. Announcers just said he is returning for his senior season.

At 6-3 282, he's almost certainly better suited to play on the line than in space.

For the most part you are correct. You don't need a bunch of high draft picks to have a good oline. However it is very hard to find a good LT without using a high draft pick or spending a boat load in FA/trade. Which route do you think TT is more likely to take?

Oh if the past is any indication totally FA ;) hehe

I could see him signing a former 1st round LT that has washed out to try to be a LT again.

I expect TT to draft a LT in the 1st 2 rounds. After repeatedly trading down in his 1st 3 drafts, TT has traded up in his last two. I think he will swing a deal if he has to to get the LT he wants. I was impressed with Bulaga tonight. Looked like he moves his feet very well. There may not be many great LT's in this draft, but there are several potential very good ones.

I was actually very impressed with bulaga tonight. I wasn't expecting that type of performance from him, as he held his ground in pass protection and was really dominating on sealing off run blocks and getting to the second level. He looked pretty agile and feisty, not to mention he looks like he has the frame to add more weight if needed. I'm no pro scout but he looked good out there.

I think Amukamara in the first is a bit of a reach.

Can we just put this thread on hold? Hopefully until February. It's playoff time baby! And while I know who most of those players are, I'm not yet involved enough with the draft to know who Amukamara is.

Not that this is a surprise but Bulaga declared (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft10/news/story?id=4803196).

The more Jr. LTs who declare for the draft, the better for us. I was happy when Bruce Campbell declared his intention to declare a few weeks ago.
