Thoughts on the Jets/Bengals game:

1. I thought Palmer was supposed to be good. He's overthrowing everything. Not a lot of accuracy or drive on his passes.
2. So I suppose Chicago was correct to draft Cedric Benson. Who was there RB coach who couldn't get him to run this well? He should be fired too (if he hasn't already).
3. Revis is fast and really good at using his hands to guide and follow receivers. He's got great hands that he uses to control receivers.
4. I'm glad GB has receivers that can catch. Even if they drop balls here and there, it feels like the Bengals receivers have dropped more in this game than GB's have all year.
5. Feely deserves some sort of award for his effort in this game.
6. Graham just kicked himself out of an NFL job.

Lurker64

Bengals will be looking for a new kicker tomorrow, but they'll have all offseason to do it. Weird that they franchised their kicker before this season.

Fosco33
01-09-2010, 06:27 PM
yeah, that one hurts. But earlier, the Jets had back-back FGs called off before having to punt. So they traded 3 pts with the 1st miss.

They had multiple chances to get the TD... but that is such a makeable FG.

channtheman

2 more terrible calls to assist the Bengals. These refs are terrible. And that kicker was destined to miss that kick after the refs totally assisted the Bengals down the field.

Kind of shocking how well Dallas played. They're like us, just starting to play their best football now.

Anyone know if they sustained any injuries. I was extremely distracted during that game.

As far as how they match up against Minny, I think that's a scary match up for Minny. Witten attacks the weakest part of their secondary. Ware attacks the weakest part of their offense. They played Saturday and looked physical. They're going to get an extra day of rest before Sundays game in Minnesota.

The Vikings are tough at home, no doubt, but they're going to have a tough, physical match against Dallas. Very tough.

Bretsky
01-09-2010, 11:08 PM
I don't think they had any bad injuries; Dallas prevents several bad matchups for MN. Both teams present matchup problems for GB as well. Gosh it'd be nice to still have Al Harris. Should be a fun ride; for now let's just get by tomorrow

Why not? NE has ZERO defense, and they lost their best WR.

Atleast one was a tipped ball. Frank Wilson(haha) made a beautiful break on a Brady pass but dropped the pick. He doesn't look like himself at all. This has been exposed before however, consistent up-the-middle pressure disrupts Brady's passing game. No Welker is killing him, but not as badly as the interior of the Ravens D-line. Ngata is the best DT in the league.

I think it's whoever fits their game-plan. They sprinkle in Taylor as well. I believe he might have been the featured back at the beginning of the year. The Pats have been down on Maroney for awhile now. It might go as far back as the end of last season.

In the Patriots defense, they gave up Seymore and several picks for picks in the future. They're still a good team, but they're in need of a young talent infusion.

They're starting what Ted did when Brady is 32 years old. I predicted 4 or 5 years ago, after they won their 3rd SB that they would falter. They way they've taken on the challenge without getting desperate, the way they're taking a little step back now with their eye on the big picture (adding the most talent possible).

I think we'll see the Patriots back really soon. I never thought Brady would win another SB, but the way the Patriots are setting up to accumulate talent, some of the tough decision they've made, I wouldn't be surprised if they're back on top before we know it.

Then again, maybe Pioli was the straw that stirred that drink. Maybe they won't get the talent they used to becuase they don't have the evaluator that made it all happen.

So far, defense has really won out this weekend. Hopefully that trend continues through the last game of the weekend.

Which reminds me, I visited a 'Birds' Forum last night and read for a while.
Most of those fans were talking scared stiff over our game today, fearing defeat and complaining how the Packer visitors took up half their stadium last Sunday and more expected today.....naming our guys who were making
all the big plays, LOL......

They didn't give the Ravens that 2 pointer but NE's stadium is clearing out now. I'm kinda glad. My neighbor across the street is an obnoxious NE fan so now she'll not have much to crow about. She has never said a good word about the Pack since I've lived here. :-p

Ok, Flacco's line for this game has to be a record for a QB winning a playoff game:

J. Flacco 4/10 34 0 1

What does that translate to as a QB rating? Somewhere near Grossman's last game against us!
