View Full Version : Castro out of power, a good thing?

red

i'm getting a good laugh out of all the people i'm seeing that are happy that castro is sick and has given power to his brother Raul.

it seems many people think this is a giant turning point, and that if fidel dies that cuba will give up communism.

WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!

fidel might have been corrupt and taken advantage of his power, but raul is the commie

it was raul that met che guevara and introduced him to fidel. it was che and raul that talked fidel into making the nation of cuba a comunist society. it was raul that befriended the soviets

fidel dying will not turn the counry into a demoracy, if anything it will make it a stronger socialist society, but maybe without the corruption and power trip that fidel had

Castro is having surgery. I don't think a temporary transfer to his little brudder is that significant.

Also, I'm afraid that the apparatus is going to just keep ticking along after Castro dies. Which I guess is what you are suggesting too.

I agree. As long as the Castro "familia" is in power, nothing will change.

This reminds me of those who said Saddam Hussein should be left in power, b/c when he eventually dies, the regime will change naturally.

In fact, when these crazy bastards finally die, they leave the country in the hands of their even MORE crazy family members---in the case of North Korea and Iraq (where it was headed), these are the leader's crazy psychopathic children. Sure---they're probably so crazy they will self- destruct, but who will they take with them?

Come on now man, Retail was just bustin' your chops. He's a huge value to our site. The man has given everyone so much good advice on finances it is ridiculous. Retail, B and Scottie have encouraged me to learn a lot more about investments and money management. They're very knowledgable people.

Nah, Partial, if Red says I'm useless I must be. See, he's an expert at judging people and letting the rest of us know just how it is. He's got wonderful vision and great "people reading" skills. Just ask him about Mike Sherman. He's done some AWESOME research. He ought to write a book. He could sell it on late night TV.

And you're right, I was just busting his chops...

Woody, man, give it a rest. Isn't this why we call it the "romper room?" If Red can't take a joke.... Well, he can't.

so you have a problem with people that have an opinion, and defend them. or is it people that just disagree with what you think is right? i put right in my sig IMO, everything i say is my opinion, just like almost everything that everyone else has to say on here. are you saying we aren't allowed to give our opinions? or are we just not allowed to defend them?

you're the one that can't take a joke, i have said a few time the "we should sue sherman" line was a joke. obviously one that flew way over your head for you to go on your only i'm right, you're wrong tirade in that thread

and i got a real good laugh out of you calling tank a 12 year old for the way he acts after you have been going on the way you have for the last few weeks

you are hypocrite. you say other people act like children, when you do it yourself. you bash people for giving their opinions and defending them, yet you refuse to except what anyone else thinks. you call people a hypocrite, when you are one also

should we now ask you from now on what we should think and say?

i said about a month ago that maybe we should try and sue sherman for what he did to the team. retailguy went on and on for many pages blasting me for saying anything wrong about sherman. when someone asked why he was throwing a fit he said it was because of my idiot comment that we should sue.

since then, about every other thread i post in, it gets met with the comment, we should sue huh red? no matter what the topic is about

and it got old and annoying real fast

I simply ask you to consider this retailguy.

Ask yourself honestly if your thing with him annoys the man ?

Got the answer to that question? Gooood !!

Then ask yourself. What real purpose/pleasure does it give you to go on with any possible annoyance ( to red ) that affects all of us here more or less?

Hey retailguy. I'm positive that seeing red post since last November that he can handle himself (and I'm not as you term it - the police).

I'm simply a member here - that see's a problem. If anyone went over and over you and I observed your annoyance I'd try to assist you. I don't discrimminate, as a member of OUR forum.

I suggest that if YOU retailguy, desists in your little joke, that's in my view at the expence of red, that problem that I see, most certainly can be eliminated.

Getting that ? Good.

Try the link below at the Smoking Gun to check out the many ideas that our intelligence and military communities hatched to destabilize or overthrow Castro. OMG, some of these are so freakin' hair (hare) brained it's downright laughable.
Now I know why Castro outlasted 9 presidents. We should have contracted this job out to the Mafia, just like James Ellroy alledges in his book "American Tabloid."
BTW, "American Tabloid" is a work of fiction, from the same guy who wrote "L.A.Confidential" and "The Black Dahlia."

Well, well, well. Here we go again.

You "backed up" why your perspective was correct for six pages, THEN claimed it was a joke on page seven, much like Tank as a matter of fact.

Ok, I can handle a joke. (I still don't think it was a "joke", but that's a discussion for another time).

Several times, I post "you should sue", and now you say it "got old fast".

POT - MEET - KETTLE.

Red, your joke wasn't funny. It attacked the character of a man who left this town with a winning record. You want to bash him as a coach, fine, have at it. We've had better coaches through those doors, but we've had MUCH MUCH worse also. But if you are going to put it up, you better be prepared to take it.

I didn't do anything to you, that you didn't (by your own admission) do, and that's not my opinion, it is a fact....

So, I figured since you are such a funny dude I'd participate. Guess I have to leave the comedy to you. Apparently when I do the same thing, it isn't very funny. Or perhaps, you don't have much of a sense of humor.

You can ask my opinion whenever you like. I promise to always tell you what not to do. You have my word, and my opinion.

As for elimination of the problem, perhaps I should call Israel? Me thinks they are not "giving up" anytime soon.

And, I'm sure you realize that my "forum police" comment was NOT an attack on you? I so much enjoyed your attempt to mediate. As I'm sure you can see, Red sees nothing but "disdain" when he sees me.... It's OK, I'll hire Mike Sherman to "take him out" after he's finished in Houston.

Actually, I believe Raul is the head of the dreaded secret police in Cuba. He is, if anything, worse than Fidel. Of Course, if Fidel dies, there is no guarantee that Raul would be win what is sure to be a power struggle. Bush vs. Chavez could be interesting.
