Really?

Those drafts include some stinkers!

Packers high on draft list

According to Football Outsiders, which appears in the April 19 edition of ESPN The Magazine, the Green Bay Packers are ranked seventh among the 32 teams in the National Football League in terms of the effectiveness of their drafts.

The study included the eight drafts between 2000-'07...The ranking of the teams in the NFC North were: Chicago (12), Minnesota (16) and Detroit (22).

The bottom five were Tampa Bay, Buffalo, Cincinnati, St. Louis and Oakland, which was dead last.

It is interesting that Packer drafts are immediately ranked as mediocre by the experts whose advice Ted never bothers to take. After a few years Packer drafts have apparently stacked up pretty well, and this sample didn't even include the influx of talent in'08 and '09. Two years from now we'd leap into the top three I should think with the debacle of 2001 out of the way.

The sooner the Sherman dafts fall of the consideration the better.

That 2004 draft will hurt the ranking for a few more years.
Come to think of it 2003 was very bad also.

There is also a big difference between drafting 5th in 2006 and drafting late in 2008 and 2010.

If we took the year 2000 (the year after Thompson left) to the year 2004 (the year before Thompson came back), I have a feeling we'd be the worst drafting team in the NFL.
