Favre injures calf in night practice.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre injured his right calf toward the end of Tuesday night’s practice and was treating it with ice. Coach Mike McCarthy said he didn’t believe the injury was serious.

“He just got banged in the back of his leg,” McCarthy said. “It was during the blitz drill.”

McCarthy said the trainers would evaluate Favre Wednesday morning before deciding if he will practice.

“We’ll see him in the morning,” McCarthy said. “We only have one practice tomorrow so I think we’re OK.”

Running back Najeh Davenport left practice briefly with a cramp, but later returned to action.

Favre throws perfect pass, then gets picked off

In a two-minute drill near the end of practice, Brett Favre lofted a spectacular pass to rookie receiver Greg Jennings that covered 57 yards. Favre’s perfect spiral hit Jennings in stride and beat cornerback Jason Horton. Later in the drive, Favre was intercepted by safety Tra Boger on a pass over the middle intended for tight end David Martin.

Barnett the lone LB in dime defense

The Packers’ No. 1 dime defense included Nick Barnett as the lone linebacker, and a front four of Aaron Kampman, Cullen Jenkins, Corey Williams and Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila. The extra cornerbacks were Ahmad Carroll and Jason Horton. Rookie linebacker Abdul Hodge served as the lone linebacker in the No. 2 dime defense.

Funny that they failed to mention that Favre's interception to Boger was on 4th and 24--something that Christl mentioned. I have a feeling this will be the theme until they play their first couple of preseason games.
