So the god damn motherfucking AP is now rolling with this fucking bad as forum.

I will tell a Joke

---------- Down on the Farm -------

On a farm, a kid comes in and sits at the kitchen table wanting breakfast.

His mom says "Honey, you know you don't get to eat until you've fed the animals".

The kid slams the door on his way to the barn, throws the feed out for the chicken and kicks them in the head when they go to eat. The same with the cow, he kicks the cow in the head when it tries to eat the hay he put out. Then he feeds the pigs, and kicks them in the head when they start eating out of the trough. Then he returns to the kitchen table.

His mom says "I saw what you did... so for kicking the chickens, you won't be getting any eggs. Kicking the cow means you can't have any milk. And no sausage or bacon because you kicked the pigs."

Just then the father comes down the stairs, trips over the family cat and while falling, kicks the cat in the head.

The kid looks at his mom and asks "You want to tell him, or do I?"

Need help.

I wanna help my son (aged 11) start a band. His sister has agreed to play bass, though she's actually a rythm guitarist. She's almost 13. My son's best friend, who he hasn't spoken to for 8 months (Fuck, pride is silly!) is a crack drummer. We also have a gifted sax player, aged 13.

So, the rythm section and vocals are set. My girl says she knows a coupla guitarits, so we'll be auditoning those.

Oh, what does my son do? Well, he'll be lead singer. Think Jimmy Morrison aged 11, but with dark hair. The kid is so good looking he should be locked up. Takes after his mom.

But, I don't have a name for the band!!

Please help.

SkinBasket
03-23-2006, 03:45 PM
You're asking people here for help naming you kid's band? That's dangerous.

It must be irreverant, witty, and commercially viable.

How about... you let them pick? You try to force a name on a band and you're asking for trouble.

Oooooh.....interesting discussion. As I am the Manager of a major rock band here in the TC, I know how important the band name is.

What kind of music are they going to play? What kind of market do they want to hit? Band name is sooooo very important.

I was always fond of Distinctive Stink...or spelling variations thereof. Works with your kids' "smelly sneakers" idea, but a litle more grungy.

Well, The Doors were historically significant because they had talent. Same with The Beatles. Neither had very interesting names, if you ask me.

Find a name that has signficance to the type of music you want to play, the image the band wants to portray, and perhaps something that has sentimentality to the band. It's got to be a name that rolls off the tongue and is marketable. "Smelly Sneakers" is cute, but it sounds like a college alt-rock band to me. Now, "Sneaker Pimps", a band from England, had a cool name. I'd suggest you take the sneakers idea and run with it, only try to throw in more detail.

The band I manage is named Perfect Enemy (we used to be Sound And Fury, but lost the copyright). Voltaire once said "Perfect is the enemy of good." It has significance because of the market we play in and the content of our music. It's also in the lyrics of one of our favorite bands, A Perfect Circle.

Just some thoughts.

Some ideas:

"New Kicks" As in: Hey dog, are those new kicks? Yeah man, picked these up at Foot Locker.

"Con Verse All Stars" or just "Con Verse"

"Fleet of Foot"

"Rotting Reeboks"

"Worn Sole"

First time I cracked the top 10. And, I'm rubbing shoulders with a hottie rat and a toxic rat. Life could be worse!

Here's a joke I just heard:

A man enters a bar and orders a drink. The bar has a robot bartender. The
robot serves him a perfectly prepared cocktail, and then asks him, "What's
your I.Q.?"

The man replies, "150", and the robot proceeds to make conversation about
global warming factors, quantum physics and spirituality, biomimicry,
environmental interconnectedness, string theory, nano-technology and sexual
proclivities.

The man is very impressed and thinks, "This is really cool." He decides to
test the robot. He walks out of the bar, turns around, and comes back in for
another drink.

Again the robot serves him perfectly prepared drink and asks him, "What's
your I.Q.?"

"About 100," the man responds.

Immediately, the robot starts talking, but this time, about football,
NASCAR, fishing, supermodels, favorite fast foods, guns, and women's
breasts.

Really impressed, the man leaves the bar and decides to give the robot one
more test. He heads out and returns, the robot serves him and asks, "What's
your I.Q.?"

"Er ... 50, I think," the man replies.

And the robot says ... real slowly ... "So ..... ya gonna follow the Vikings
again this year?"

Nice guys finish last; I know. Used to be a nice guy.

Make an easy deal; if ya wear my favorite outfit tonight (the skimpy see through one) and flash me at 10:00 PM you can have my spot :)

For the record though, I don't think a certified AP official released the rankings.

Sorry Little Wiskey, but unless the original founder BF4MVP makes the rankings post I don't think your set will be challenged.

WHY do track meets always have to be held on a cold and rainy/damp day so when you get home it takes hours to feel warm again????????

Anyway  my little guy got some ribbons so it was well worth it. His team came in 1st on the 400 relay, he got 4th in the 50 and 3rd in the 400.

MJZiggy

It was a tough call for him as he was going to have to miss his baseball game to participate in this meet. As it turned out the game was cancelled ....I think due to everything being so saturated here.....been raining for 3 days. I hate this cold, damp weather. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and 70......I should skip work!!!!!! Take a mental health day

I'm not on the list, huh? Well, I guess anyone who's a Beavers fan(Oregon State Beavers, that is) does not deserve to be on that list.

Hmmm, I wonder if I am on the President's FBI list....

I did help push over an outhouse on a remote farm in northern Wisconsin as a kid. Perhaps I might be considered a threat to national security...

I thought it was the Doughboy who died??

OBITUARY

Please join us in remembering a great icon of the entertainment community.

The Pillsbury Doughboy died yesterday of a yeast infection and complications from repeated pokes in the belly. He was 71. Doughboy was buried in a lightly greased coffin.

Dozens of celebrities turned out to pay their respects, including Mrs. Butterworth, Hungry Jack, the California Raisins, Betty Crocker, the Hostess Twinkies, and Captain Crunch. The gravesite was piled high with flours. Aunt Jemima delivered the eulogy and lovingly described Doughboy as a Man who never knew how much he was kneaded. Doughboy rose quickly in show business, but his later life was filled with turnovers. He was not considered a very "smart" cookie, wasting much of his dough on half baked schemes.

Despite being a little flaky at times, he still, as a crusty old man, was considered a roll model for millions. Doughboy is survived by his wife, Play Dough, and two children, John Dough and Jane Dough (plus they had one in the oven). He is also survived by his elderly father, Pop Tart.

The funeral was held at 3:50 for about 20 minutes.

what are the current ranking?!? :D

In order for the rankings to be currrent, I think the rankings have to be based on something. I think the Associated Press ranked this IT list based on number of times that a poster has appeared in the "National Enquirer", "In Touch" magazine, or any other worthless, grocery-store rack publication. Sadly, I've read one of those cover-to-cover over the last week because my girlfriend keeps it in the bathroom for reading material. If I hear any more about Nick Lachey and his escapades, I'm going to find him and boil him at 980 degrees.

Fine, if FC hates it, it's on you. well she will be on you but not in a bad way. It could be a good way if it is Bretsky thinking about it.

Ahh to hell with it just deal with it. Alley Rat it is, take as you see it.

Of course, his posts always look larger because he crazy on the enter key, but a lot of his posts are 1,000 words +.
