View Full Version : Official Prediction Thread

Hey. . . There is a lot of pride that goes into having a solid read on situations around here. Whenever someone feels like making a prediction, we can come here, lay it out. Let's try to not really post in here other than predictions so it stays relatively clean. Then we can keep record. . . .

Once somebody makes a call, nobody else can take the same stance. So only people who get in early are going to have a chance, but if you get in just to get in, you're going to have a bad record. . . . So basically, as soon as you have a strong feeling one way or another, get in and you'll get your point. . . .

Since I'm starting the thread, I'll get the first prediction in. Obviously this thread is going to take years to really have any merit, but had we had it years ago, it would be something really cool to look at now.

EDIT: If people don't mind, I'm going to put a little twist on it. Seeing Lurkers prediction, it's very difficult because it depends on health and finding a trading partner. I'm going to give him a 30% handicap. If he gets it, his score goes to 1.3. If he misses, he only drops to -0.7. I'll try to keep up on each prediction and give a handicap after each prediction. If people disagree with the handicap we'll talk it out until something is agreed on.

I predict Bryan Bulaga is going to be a really good LT in the league barring injury. The reason I think that is MM moving him to LG is a sign of how well he's played at LT. They can't keep him off the field.

See my original post for explanation, but. . . .

Lurker gets a 30% handicap because it was a tough prediction
Mission gets 30% handicap because it is a tough prediction

I just want to make sure people who come in with softballs don't get 1 point for every softball and people who are playing for real, get what they deserve.

I'd call this a -30% handicap because Finley has already done amazing things in the league Injury for 2 or more games will be a bailout for you. Nobody should get knocked in this game for a season ending injury.

Morgan Burnett will be a starter in Green Bay for years to come and will have a similar career to Nick Collins.

Damn, that's a tough one too. I know you've watched him but Collins has had a great career so far. Odds of having a multi-probowl safety from the 3rd round. . . I think that's slim.

I'd give this a 30% handicap.

Nevermind I'll keep my prediction on Burnett :D

Also have to keep in mind Nick Collins didn't really break out til a few years ago. His first years he showed flashes but struggled at times. I think we'll see the same from Burnett.

What???

The Packers and Dallas both can't go 16-0. They play each other up in Lambeau on a Sunday night in November. So, if we have a playoff bye followed by a trip to Dallas the only way that is possible is if Dallas has a better record.

I am guessing that RG meant a trip to the SB in Dallas not 2 weeks after the playoff bye.

Who's wishing, it's a prediction based on past results with QBs across the league and how last season went for AR as far as getting hit. Few QBs last an entire season. I'm not wishing anything.

Favre though is an anomaly. He has always made it through the season which contradicts all data concerning QB's. At some point though you would have to think it catches up with him. I just wouldn't want to bet against him any particular season.

Favre retires...for real this time because his ankle will not pass the physical.

AR throws for over 4,000 yards and 35 TDs
Grant gets 1200 yards and 10 TDs
JF gets 79 catches and 11 TDs
Crosby misses an FG to lose a game in the regular season only to make one when it Counts in the NFC championship game
Harrel is a BEAST this year
Hawk records 4 INTs 80 tackles and 6 sacks.

You might be stretching things a bit.

14 QBs played all 16 regular season games last year. At least some of the remaining 18 teams changed QBs for reasons other than injury.
