Despite a sprained ankle, this guy's been coming on lately. Played well Saturday night, and had a good practice today. With Obi out with an injury, he's getting a lot of work. If he plays well against Seattle, he may be the favorite to grab the last OLB spot.

Zombo's definitely a guy to watch the next few weeks. Seems like a good practice squad candidate to me, but a lack of depth gives him a shot to earn a spot.

I won't say that I'd be all for a trade or acquisition of an OLB, since if I did that would guarantee it wouldn't happen.

Good to see that Zombo is making a strong push for a roster spot like Joe called. He's making plays and should get a lot of time in this week's game, perhaps with the 1's since Chillar is back working at ILB. It would be huge to see him get to Manning/Painter once or twice this week.

He played DE in college which is why I think he'll be on the practice squad .

Zombo should get significant playing time tonight with the ones. He and Shields are ones to watch.

I wonder how Havner compares as a linebacker to Zombo. But is Havner an inside or outside linebacker?

I wonder how Havner compares as a linebacker to Zombo. But is Havner an inside or outside linebacker?

I thought he was playing mostly inside and whether he was Will or Sam depended on where the TE was. He seemed to be in mostly in TE coverage (Sam) more while Obi would put his hand on the ground and pass rush on most plays. He was the SAM covering one TE in the flat and Zombo rushed when he picked off Whitehurst.

I can't afford another jersey. I already spend $6.95 converting my 'F word' jersey to a Havner Jersey.

Well, I'm not a joe-pro expert so it doesn't mean much, but it just seems like Francois is quicker and is around the ball.

On Zombo's strip, Manning was actually flushed out by Harrell. Not that Zombo didn't make a play. He did. But I watched Zombo and he very often seemed easily blocked.

However, he did do a nice job recognizing a wide receiver screen that Woodson nailed Wayne on once.

Zombo plays the run really well. He has a little pass rush (obviously he's going to benefit by being in an NFL program for a year). His coverage is hard to judge right now.

Last LB on the roster. . . he's worth a shot. That's my opinion on Zombo. He's an interesting developmental prospect. Not all of hte 53rd players on rosters turn into good players, but you always reserve that spot for guys you think have a chance. Zombo, Quarless, Shields. . . . We have a few guys with too much upside to let go but not enough experience to play. . . You have to invest in the roster spot sometimes to find out. 25% payoff for the far back end of the roster is fine.

Tramon Williams was a guy like that a few years ago. He was a surprise member of the team and look how it can pan out, not that it will every time.

I liked Zombo in TE coverage in the Seattle game. I'll have to look more at Francois to see if he's everything you say. If not, I fart in your general direction, English K-nig-ht!

I think Zombo is better in coverage than he is in the pass rush at this point. He has the intangibles, it seems, to narrow this gap as he adds strength and understanding.

It means he's more of a man than you or I....or any other man, for that matter.

I'm no expert, so my liking Francois is like my grandmother betting on horsey #6 because he has a cute saddle blanket.

So I'm not going to gnash my teeth if Zombo makes it.

I also want to be on record as stating that Zombo's sack and strip of Manning is called the Zombo Combo.

But if Spencer Havner plays linebacker and gets a sack/strip of the QB, the announcer can say "Frankenbacker just pulled a Zombo Combo!" and we'll know what he's talking about.

If Zombo punted to Frankenbacker, would Frankenbacker score a TD or would Zombo stop him for no gain?
