Per the New York Daily News (http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/jets/2010/09/05/2010-09-05_rex_ryan_meets_with_new_york_jets_allpro_corner back_darrelle_revis_to_discuss_co.html) and Twitter, Revis has come to terms.

I haven't read the deal yet, but everyone can return to normal. I couldn't see a trade ever happening. Revis loved the Jets and the Jets loved Revis. This was purely about money, stupid damning quotes by the Jets coach and front office, and a dumbass contract drawn up by Al Davis.

If Revis has been keeping in shape (and he was apparently training with Ty Law), all he has to do is find this year's code word for "blitz" and start 5 feet off the LoS. In the meantime, the Jets have gotten the opportunity to put their 2 new starters in prime rehearsal position.

$32m is better than none. Players in the NFL are on a limited lifespan, you can't get back that "year" you didn't play.

Makes sense to me. There's probably a "wink nod" agreement between them. But the Jets don't have a good track record for honoring those, so maybe we'll see a repeat?

Peter King puts it as a better deal for Revis than the Jets (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/writers/peter_king/09/05/mmqb/index.html?eref=sihp), especially when the Jets have to re-up future contracts, but all that's over my head.

(and for what it's worth, I haven't done a lot of Packer comments only because all y'all have a better handle for what's going on than I do.)

Ah, I think you "weigh in" just fine, and if you avoid criticizing "he who shall not be criticized", I think you'll be just fine!

Appreciated both of your updates this AM, hadn't seen either of them.
