Robert Ayers
Demaryius Thomas,
Richard Quinn (used Bears 3rd round pick + their own to move up)

Then they traded their pick from the Bears this year to move down to 13, traded to move down again and used one pick to take Eric Decker and packaged another in the move to get Tebow.

Ya, that will suck if it turns out that they did keep the wrong one.

Bryan also had a 32 yard punt that went out at the 39, and a 37 yard punt to the 22 with a 7 yard return. Supposedly, the diffference between the two punters was consistency. I guess we will find out. I see his 57 yard punt had a 15 yard return, for a net of 42.

Bears D held and they have solid field position - maybe that's his rationale (i.e., they should at least get a FG if they stop the anemic Lion offense).

But short of the 1st down and Bears only get to the 40 - punt time.

All he had to do is get up with it.
Today's athletes are too anxious to celebrate. They want to drop the ball the instant they cross the goal line, and we see them do it too early, or not complete the catch as with Johnson.

If I'm the coach, the rule is you bring me the ball, or hand it to an official after you score. NEVER, just let it go.

Johnson made two mistakes on that drive.

I hear a lot of talk about the rule being 'technically' correct. But any rule still comes down to a refs judgement. The ref can look at that reception and say 'did he have control going to the ground and release the ball after he scored the TD?' The answer is obviously 'yes.' That walking suppressed anal fart Pereiro would have backed up the field refs call no matter how he ruled, so he is just a tool. The spirit of the game was mugged in Chicago.

we're feeling sorry about an nfc north team being jobbed. lol...it's only because it was the bears that won.

Not so for me. In any NFC north game I want the home team to win (unless it is later in the season with optimal playoff possibilities for the Packers requiring the opposite). Furthermore, I want both teams to look horrible. I got all that today in Chicago. I don't 'side' with the Lions because I wanted them to win, but because the ref could have easily used his judgment and determined that the WR had control all the way to the ground and let the ball go while getting up. That's what the play looked like to anyone who watches and/or plays football. Only refs with all the joy sucked from their pathetic lives could rule opposite.

A RB can dive for the corner of the endzone, barely get the ball over, land out of bounds and lose the ball and it's still called a TD. But what Megatron did is not a catch or TD is simply crap. While I get the arguments about it being a rule, it's a dumb rule.

Dez Bryant. Rookie, injured during preseason. 6 catches. Roy Williams, healthy vet, 2 catches for 12 yards.

It can't be that Roy is this bad, there has to be some problem with the QB-WR match. Doesn't it? Maybe Williams is better at routes Romo ignores, or something. He was tough if not unstoppable in Detroit.

PACK WINS, RANGERS SWEEP THE YANKEES, VIKES AND COWBOYS LOOSE. IF ONLY MANCHESTER UNITED HADN'T ALLOWED TWO GOALS, IN EXTRA TIME, FOR A DRAW MY WEEK WOULD BE PERFECT.

Lions beating the Bears would have been OK, too.
It would have been. But the Lions offense, which is supposed to be their strength, was nowhere to be found for most of the game.

has dez bryant done anything in this game?

He got flagged for OPI......which was the first time that Dallas' #88 was flagged for that.

Speaking of which, thanks to acquiring DirectTV and NFL Sunday ticket in the off-season, my Michael Irvin hate-o-meter went into the red yesterday.

Most of the talking heads on that network are intolerable. I want to punch Sapp in the face every time he opens his pie hole.

Lions fear Stafford may be out 4-6 weeks. How long before the Lions start to worry about the fact that their franchise QB has suffered fairly serious injuries to his throwing shoulder two years in a row?

I resent the implication!

"The best corner, in my opinion, is Al Harris from Green Bay. He's not going to get you those picks. But that's a shut-down corner. He's going to pressure you all game, he doesn't want no help up top, he's going to pressure you all game, he wants that No. 1 guy every week. It's a tough task getting by him because he's so long, he's so lanky, and so strong.

"You don't never hear nothing about him because he don't have the picks like these other guys because he don't play zone. He plays man-to-man, and you won't catch any balls against him."

- Roy Williams

I think I said it last year. The AFC dominant era is over. The Championship is there for the taking again.

KC sure fired up and laying the lumber to SD.

McCluster sure looked like a speed demon on that punt return.

I need 4 more points from Mathews to win my FF matchup this week. It might not happen with this game situation!

This KC game just goes to show how hard wins are to come by in the NFL, especially on the road.

We won a very tough game yesterday on the road that I think will pay huge dividends if the division race is close.

Wait a second, I thought if a player touched the ball while he was in the endzone it was automatically a touch back. Isn't that right?
