So far, both teams look 8-8 mediocre.

He nearly got blocked from behind by a Lion D lineman. But he escaped. Might have been a flag, but he would have taken a lot of grief in the film session.

Purple Jesus is just a beast. Should have been tackled but shook off a high tackle from a Lion LB.

Because a 30 yard throw down the middle of the field is no sure thing. He could have put more air under it, but its still 7.

Jahvid Best just made Ben Leber grab air and look like a 12 year old trying to tackle.

Keep in mind that a guy with a 5.0 40 that means 24 feet per second, while a guy with a 4.5 40 is running at 26.67 feet per second. That means it takes more than a second for a fast guy to catch a slow guy if the slow guy has a 1 yard yard head start and meantime the slow guy will have advanced the ball at least 8 yards down the field.... and that's assuming that they're both moving in the correct direction at full speed initially. In the case of the Williams interception, Williams actually had a head start over Gerhart. Nobody will mistake Gerhart for Reggie Bush, but he's not actually all that slow. He's mostly just white.

Shaun Hill with late throw, turns single coverage with safety nearby into triple coverage. Timing is everything boys.

gbgary

Lions are still the lions. Two gifts, a muffed punt and a blown coverage, GIVE minn a td. The only way minn loses this is if they're more inept than detroit.

I think you forgot to account for differential in wind resistance based on the different surface areas exposed for different sized players. Plus the integrals you are using are based on purely linear mathematics. I want to see the angled vectors on this. Show all math. No partial credit.

And Hanson misses a FG. Holding calls are killers.

If that had been Crosby, no one would be blaming it on the holding call (assuming that's what you mean to say here). Anyway, 44 yards indoors for Jason Hanson should be automatic.

No, wasn't blaming holding for the missed kick, not directly anyway. Did mean to comment that something as simple as holding, at 10 yards, can just kill an otherwise good drive, which the Lions were having.

The Lions are no push over, but on the road. . . . The Lions and Vikings are about even teams right now.

I haven't seem too much of the Bears. Depending on how good the Bears are, this could be a one team division.

On the plus side, I now know how Longwell has suddenly developed the ability to kick it to the goal line, while rarely doing that for the Packers. He is kicking line drives and no Viking gets in striking distance of the return until he is almost to the 20.

Yes, that was a terrible call. Peterson was 2 yards behind Favre when he threw it. The hit wasn't what caused the backwards pass. Should have been a latteral and a fumble. Might not have made a difference as the Vikings looked like they would have recovered, making for a slightly longer Longwell FG. But you never know.

Lions 2 INTs in endzone. They are not ready yet. At lease with Shaun Hill as QB.

Reports of Vikings demise might be premature. But they are very reliant on AP right now.

Holy sheep dip, Hartley honked it wide left from like 20 yards. Atlants has the ball after the Saints were on the 10 yard line.

pbmax
09-26-2010, 04:49 PM
That was one of the strangest OTs I have ever seen. Honked chip shot Figgie. A FG blocked but the play didn't happened as the defense (NO) had called the clever timeout (Good work Mr. Payton!). Next try, penalty on the kicking team. Backed up, then nail the FG. Atlanta wins the hard way.

Good to know someone in that division will fight the Saints.

And boy am I glad I get Colts versus Broncos. Why would I want to see the Eagles versus the Redskins? Stupid CBS doubleheader.

D Thomas probably just caused an INT by cutting his route off and letting the CB have position to intercept. But then, just as the CB sped by the entire Bronco O, Thomas caught him. Both were traveling at a different speed than the rest.

On the reviewed Bronco touchdown, I thought the colts defender yanked his leg back rather than seeing his knee hit the turf and roll forward.
