Bellichick had something up his sleeve, of course. You have to think the Branch deal was next to made when he shipped out Moss.

He sure looks pretty good on this one. Moves up a round in the draft, gets rid of a player looking for a big contract at the end of the year, and gets a player, who while he's not Moss, is a capable receiver that should be able to fit into the O pretty easily.

How did he move up a round when he traded for someone?

I can't find that detail in the Branch news I have seen.

EDIT: Nevermind. Got a 3rd for Moss, traded 4th for Branch.

Didn't Branch play for the Patriots? He went to Seattle after one of their Superbowl's. Assuming we're talking about Dion Branch

How in the world did Seattle fanagle a 4th out of Belichick for Branch, a 31-year old receiver who has had knee problems and has never done anything since he left NE back in 2005???? If Moss only fetches a 3rd then Branch is worth a low 7th.

Not to defend the guy - but consider the fact that he played for SEATTLE. Bellicheat knows exactly what he's getting.

I think they gave up too much for Branch but he does know the system.

And he is cheap compared to Vincent Jackson.

OMG!
Why didn't TT make this move? Doesn't he know we need veteran help on the team? Oh the agony...

Wait, isn't this what we're supposed to do when another team makes a deal?

Patriots got raped on this trade...

Past 3 years : no including 2010....
09: 45 rec 437 yards 2 tds
08: 30 rec 412 yards 4 tds
07: 49 rec 661 yards 4 tds

Not to mention he is running on no knees and hasn't played a full season in his career, this is far from a good deal for NE...

If this is a good deal for NE, then Moss to the Patriots for a 4th round pick was the best deal of all time, and Moss to the Vikings for a 3rd was just as big of a steal...
