Just saying. Some guys are more retarded than others. Eli is one of the "some guys."

As an aside, why are the motherfucking cocksucking text areas on this forum two hex characters from being the same motherfucking color as the background color? Seriously. Some guys.

Yeah, he pulled that SB ring out of his ass too...not really defending Eli but we had a gunslinging clown for QB for 1½ decade - not worthy of Saturday Night Live.

That certainly is true! If that guy doesn't catch the Eli pass on top of his helmet Eli's SB win never happens. 19/34 255 2TDs 1Int 2 Fumbles. He was 8/16 85 yards and an INT in the 1st half for a 39.8 QB rating. Through 3 Quarters he was 9/19 for 95 yards. It was almost a Rothlesburger Superbowl QB performance until the 4th Q.

The thing is that Eli ain't as smart as his older bro' P. Manning. So the the guy can't slide; let the Yankees help him in the off season then. BF stopped taking the highways in front of him...he threw pick six instead. Eli took off and ran - forgot to slide and then looked whiney in the aftermath. Big deal really, Eli is still a good QB. But Eli might have a bigger legend in the end than his talent deserves. BF is lucky he had a great team win him a SB ring 'cos even the Dan Marino "legend" is fading fast. Be on a SB team and you're an instant legend. Go figure.

To be honest I can think of 10 QBs I would pick in front of Eli to lead my team. Yet he wins the Superbowl and he is God's Gift to QBs.

He ran when no WR was open and the pocket was closing in. Good decision, he had a ton of room and made the first down easily. But after the first down he kept running and after two players converged, he dove forward and rolled to the ground. By rolling, he landed on the arm carrying the ball. By diving forward, he could not be down on his own contact with the ground.

Had he slid feet first, he is down immediately after hitting the ground and the ball is safely tucked away.

I have never seen better(worse) dumb face than Shanahan's yesterday as they kick the field goal to win at the end of regulation and it comes up short. If anyone has video, that shit is FUNNY!

Complete with the black guy jumping for joy right next to Shanahan only to mouth 'NO, NO"! Classic!

Yup, I think I agree - 10 should do it. Still better than 22 other NFL teams. But one can't deny the pedigree in the Mannings.

You do realize that Archie lead the 'Aints. The bag wearing NFL football franchise. Archie was 2,011/3,642 or 55% for 23,911 yards 125TDs 173INTs and 67.1 QB rating. Almost 50 more picks than TDs!

LOL - I do know! And I let my eldest brother know it too as he's a HUGE Saints fan. He goes the Super Dome every season...all the way from Denmark the last 5 years. As a young lad in 1992, I went along to the Super dome and NY the next week to see the Saints. In these days Packers ticket were out of reach for fans in Europe.

Manning was the absolute least of the Saints problems in those days. He was on some horrible teams. You really have to put his stats in context with the time he played:

Archie Manning.......... - 2011/3642; 55%; 23,911 yards; 125 TDs; 173 INTs; 67.1 rating
Contemporary HOF'er - 2025/3901; 52%; 27,989 yards; 212 TDs; 210 INTs; 70.9 rating

Both came into the league about the same time and left about the same time. Manning played with no one. "Contemporary HOF'er" played with a roster full of All-Pros and future Hall of Famers. Personally, I think the Steelers might have been even better with Manning than Bradshaw, and Manning would have been in the Hall, not Bradshaw.

That's what my brother says too. QB stats sure were different in the '70ties. Good post.

I'll tell you how it happened! The Steelers won Superbowls and the 'Aints didn't. There are quite a few HOF that I scratch my head on how they made it there. If you look at those players they tended to play on the dynasty teams. Not saying it is right or wrong but it sure makes you wonder.

Yup. Bradshaw is certainly one of them. The best thing he did as a QB was hand off.
