Man - that's such a great memory. I remember exactly where I was and who I was watching the game with -- we went from complete frustration to celebration in a matter of minutes (a few times).

Go PACK!

That was such a gift! His cousin was the manager at my hometown McDonald's - we gave him props/shit for a least a month.

How bout this play from County Stadium? I remember the JSO picture of Favre flipping and cut it out because it was so epic.

I didn't celebrate right away. I was absolutely shocked. I thought no way the cards were going to win and I accepted that there were no playoffs that year. Sometimes it is really better to be lucky than good. The Freeman catch was on my birthday so that one was special to me as well.

I seems like every time the game is close nowadays we always lose. Add to that two of the last three years the packers have had a lot of injured players. This team needs some luck to go with the wealth of talent it has.

Btw, Ahman Green is his prime was an absolute beast! Wish we could find another back like him.

I was at the Denver game. It was a great time. They weren't showing the score of the Minnesota game in the stadium but quite a few people around us were listening to the game on radios so the team essentially found out when the crowd starting going nuts. At first you could see the players looking a little perplexed as to why the crowd was cheering for no apparent reason. Once they realized it was because they were in the playoffs they started celebrating right along with us.

1980: Chester Marcol's freak touchdown: This is one of the most memorable plays in NFL History. The Packers and the Bears were tied at 6-6 in overtime. A 32-yard pass from Lynn Dickey to James Lofton helped set up a game-winning field goal attempt by Packers' kicker Chester Marcol. The Bears’ Alan Page managed to break through a block the field goal, with the football hitting his helmet. While it wasn’t immediately clear to the players what had happened, Marcol grabbed rebound off Page’s helmet and ran around the pile for a touchdown and the win.

I've got the footage for both of those missing videos.

The Marcol video is not available publicly anywhere other than the Packer Hall of Fame that I've seen, and I've looked far and wide for it. I had to capture it with my PDA from a monitor at the Packer HOF. It's not great, but it's not as bad as some of the stuff on YouTube.

I'll edit the footage and post it. That was a great Packer ending.

Some say that he got the name by having all the tools to become a great NFL tight end. Others say he got the name by running as if he were carrying a toolbox in each hand.

I don't know; during 2007 season Packers had all the luck when facing foes; yeah we got Bollinger, Huard, Holcomb, banged up Eli, 1000 year old Testaverde, Andrew Walter/Josh McCown, novice Kyle Orton and we had Kitna twice (Kitna ok but QB'd hapless Lions). Packers had few significant injuries.

Lady fortuna was all over Packers that 2007 season. Heck, special teams even gave us wins that season (vs Philly) on FR and game winning long FG. Only true game winner by Crosby btw.

Thanks for posting that. I have only been fortunate enough to attend one game at lambeau and it was that day. My dad, two brothers & I had 5th row seats about a third of the way into the endzone. Good weather, especially for December. Great game (destroyed Denver with Ahman taking one 99 yards to the house after a 4 down goal line stand and a special teams touchdown). I remember the crowd buzzing and then finally erupting with a red sky over lambeau. Amazing!!!

That game showed there is a football God. The Packers had beaten the Vikings twice I believe and the Seahawks head to head and we all would have been tied at 10-6. Because it would have been a 3 way tie, head to head tiebreaker was thrown out and we would have been the only team left out of the playoffs. I remember jumping up and down and screaming so loud when the Cardinals won!

another video of the freeman catch against the queens. I was at my girl friends house with a buddy of mine. she had gone to bed early because she had a big work presentation the next morning. a few times during the game she had come out of her bedroom to tell us to shut up and stop yelling at the television. then this play happens. I think we woke up the entire appartment complex!

The Brooks video was excellent -- dang that guy was athletic to get his hops so high that he coud land sitting in the stands rather than "sticking to the wall like velcro."

And yeah, seeing the Ahman Green footage made our current running back situtation hurt even more.

Two things -- in the MN CAR game, if that were played today, it'd be no touchdown as the call was that the receiver was pushed out of bounds. He didn't get in both feet.

Two, notice how after Favre's epic TD throw in 93 against Detroit, we had to cover the ensuing Kickoff with almost a minute left? And all we did there was crush the returner at the 19. With no facemask penalty.

You know - I had the same thought about the force out rule.

Other funny thing to watch - a kickoff from the 35. And since then - the K ball and taking away the wedge block.

Almost forgot about George Teague's 101 yard pick 6 in that same 93 playoff game.

I'd say we got our lucky break.... think about it.

12/19
Lions vs. Bucs

Lions win 23-20 in OT - on the road -
Breaking a 26 game road losing streak (longest in NFL history) -
Dave Rayner hits FGs to tie and then win the game (his first ever - former Packer)
Bucs were 5-0 in games decided by 3 points or less (consider the Packers record in that context)
Bucs were 9-0 against teams with a losing record

But the BIGGEST gift... Kellen Winslow called for offensive PI that nullified a TD that would've put the game essentially out of the foot of Rayner.
And the NFL admitted it was wrong.... How often does that happen?

Wow - if I were a TB fan - I'd be steaming still.

If we beat the Lions though we would have the number two seed and could potentially play the Seahawks at home. Ouch! Still running through bad luck, but the Eagles coming back against the Gaints was good luck because if that didn' happen the Gaints would be in the playoffs right now.

We shifted from completely bad luck, to bad and good luck. Now we need more good luck for four more games.
