It's December. Time for the Packers to get rolling. Packers are 12-6 under MM in December despite 1-3 in 2008. This won't be an easy game, but 49ers are a bit weak at QB and RB right now. Obviously. stopping Vernon Davis is job #1.

Offensively all eyes will be on whether James Starks gets much of an opportunity. It's going to be cold and windy, so both teams will want to run the ball if they can.

Packers 27
49ers 17

These next two games are must wins if the pack are going to have a chance at the playoffs. We need to take care of business today and I think we will. Turnover battle will decide the game here.

Supposed to be 25 degrees at game time with a NW wind of 15. Cold, but shouldn't affect the passing game. Masthay's first game of kicking in cold weather. Also Shields' first cold game. Hope he holds onto the ball.

Do you think VD will be steaming an unusually large amount of NE Wisconsin vapor through his nostrils pre-game in light of the fact that we passed on his ass?

Or, will he be cowering next to a heater thinking about how cold it is and being happy that before the draft he said he didn't want to come to Green Bay?

I live in Niners country and to say the fanbase out here is pessimistic about the game today is an understatement (although "indifference" also may describe it). They are all still bitching about taking Alex Smith over Cal native Aaron Rodgers. Most are hoping that the team plane drops off Mike Singletary in Chicago before returning to the Bay Area. The Pack needs to crush the Nners' spirit early in this game, and they will fold. Just do not give them hope by turning the ball over! Go Pack!

Detroit up 7-0 on Chicago. Doubt that ends up as an upset.

All the chips keep falling right for the Bears. Another backup QB they get to play. And they'll have a big special teams play.

The Bears are dangerous. They seem to win three games off specials each year and we seem to lose three because of them.

At this point I think they are Plus 3 and we are Minus 2

But what is Clifton doing in September when he gets the same call? Or Francois versus Miami? Its not cold. Its bad fundamental coaching.

Try reading what I wrote....I played loin for10 years, lining up was all focus & concentration, knowing where to be at that second...if you lose your focus on concentration because you're cold, you line up wrong. One night in practice, I got lined up, just came in from sideline cold, thought about it and forgot what my pass protection call was....all-American DE lit up my QB because I blocked down instead of out. Same deal.

No, I played line to (not as long and not in college) but I know exactly what you mean. But what I am saying is that the more likely scenario is that Clifton did the same thing he has done his entire career - line up wrong by being to straight up in his upper body, rather than something new to this game -- cold.

Im so tired of people making excuses for Crosby, look at the 49ers they just signed Reed and hes 2/2 today. Atleast bring another kicker in during the offseason to give him competition. How long has Crosby been with the Packers? 3 years now? And hes no better than when he first came here.
