Packers moving up now ranked 23. Bears dropping like a rock was 13 now 20.
Could this be a sign the Packers are gaining respect and the Bears season was
a fluke. Last season the Bears got lucky with the problems in the North Divison.

after a 4-12 season, I am satisfied with 23. Bear fans must be crying over 20.

However, it's possible that a better indication of the current state of things is a ranking that was made in July or August rather than May. Not that "what CBS/ESPN/SI thinks" is really a good indication of anything.

I'm sorry but the fact that they have the Dolphins ranked above the Seahawks pretty much takes any credibility away. That's a joke.

Little observations:

6 of the top 7 teams are from the AFC.

All 4 teams from the NFC East are rated higher than the top team in the NFC North (MN).

Power Rankings this early in the season are useless. How can a writer crytal ball rankings at this time?

You can get a pretty good feel for power rankings in each division, but putting all 32 against each other is useless. How do the Vikes match up against Washington, or how do the Pack match up against an improved New Orleans? Flip a coin.
