I heard tonight that the Giants plane was diverted to St. Louis due to the storm, and they are there for the night.

The league has said they might postpone the game until 3:00, or 8:00,...or Monday!

It was planned by the league to give Favre more time to heal! lol

So I blame the NFL for all the shoveling I have to do?

Now that it's moved to Monday, does that mean the Packer game will be on in the cities?

Nevermind. Just saw that we will be on Fox.

I wonder why they didn't travel Friday? Its not like news of this storm suddenly popped up Friday morning.

True. They should make the Giants forfeit. :)

Article said they moved their departure up 3 hours, expecting to be ahead of any problems, but still didn't make it.

Probably would be hard to get coaches to disrupt their all-important "routines" by traveling a day early, unless you told them at least a couple weeks early so they could prepare.

One more day for Favre to heal....wow....the gods are with him. Just like they were with Oedipus - for awhile.

The Metro Dome is collapsing again. Hence the postponement.

thats what happens when you play in a garbage bag

http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2010/12/12/heavy-snow-collapses-metrodome-roof/

they might not even have the game. the game was moved last night because the giants couldn't get there. the dome just collapsed a few hours ago. big hole in the roof and snow on the field

Go back to New York. It's only raining on this end of the country...Oh, and at least NY can actually fill the stadium...

Its amazing how this happens when Favre truely might not play. That guy has been tough and lucky when it comes to his streak.

Brett Favre will play this week and state that he wouldn't have been able to go had the game been played on Sunday at the original time. Book it. It increases his god-like aura that he consistently has lucky breaks when he's actually hurt.

with the dome unlikely to be fixed in time for a game monday night, both teams should just fly to detroit and play there. tv is already set up there, the league can pay both teams some compensation.

Ed Werder reported that Favre already said it.

kind of funny; they are showing the top of the Metrodome right now. Three people up there........one is shoveling. Must be city workers ........lol

Bretsky
12-12-2010, 09:38 AM
they may play in MN at the college stadium........but.........Giants did not being any cold weather clothese. Or there are two domes they might end up in

Joemailman
12-12-2010, 09:38 AM
They're talking about possibly playing it at UM, but Giants don't have outdoor clothing with them because they expected to play in a dome. I think the most sensible solution would be to play it at Ford Field Monday night.

I am in a league where you start an offense and it's purely total points scored

I have the NY GIANTS and the PATRIOTS and don't know who to start. Good weather it's the Pats but in the blizzard I may go NYG and hope they play in the dome

If the interior facility can handle the weather - I'm with you. It may give me one less reason to hate the Vikes (1000 to go).

I bet they either get the Giants to send out their cold gear and play at UM or find another dome (maybe the Giants should've stayed stuck in St. Louis).

Man - Favre gets lucky... every time he was nicked badly as a Pack - he seemed to have a bye week or an extra day (MNF) to get a little healthier. Guess with an insane streak - you have to have a ton of luck.

Word is that it didn't collapse from the weight of the snow. The structural problems were mostly internal.

The Vikings really suck.

It's shit or get off the pot now.

New stadium or move the franchise.

I'm checking within my heart for a single string that is twanging with sympathy for Minnesota's patrons of purple...and....nothing.

They were. You're lucky that you were revived by liberal ineptitude and a few conservative wackjobs who managed to rile up naive voters with lies and slander. But, hey, you'll still blow the 2012 election somehow with a divisive candidate so all is well.
